A protester chained himself to the goalposts before Scotland’s Women's Euro 2025 qualifier against Israel at Glasgow's Hampden stadium.

The match, which is being played behind closed doors, was delayed after the man used a heavy duty lock to secure himself to the posts in protest at Israel's military operation in Gaza.

I'm sure that made all the difference in the Middle Eastern conflict...

This evening is the Champions League final at Wembley between Real Madrid & Borussia Dortmund. Real are probably favourites going into the match to extend their record amount of wins. It is also the final game for Toni Kroos at club level & Marco Reus final game for Dortmund.

I went to the League Cup Final as a Chelsea fan with many of us warning stewards that three Liverpool fans were sat behind us not even quiet & first half they scored a goal (offside) with ‘the lady’ of the three giving Chelsea fans a hand sign (that’s all I’ll say) & leaping about so you can then imagine the issue at that point, they were escorted out but too little too late & yes red pyrotechnics pre kick off & during.

Wembley has to be in severe danger of losing the rights to hold such important UEFA games. They had apparently put measures in place to prevent a repeat of the shameful scenes witnessed in the Euro Final against Italy a couple of years ago but nothing seems to have changed.

An arbitration meeting has been scheduled from 10th to the 21st day of this month to investigate the claim by Manchester City that the Premier League's commercial rules were not in order.

Wembley has to be in severe danger of losing the rights to hold such important UEFA games. They had apparently put measures in place to prevent a repeat of the shameful scenes witnessed in the Euro Final against Italy a couple of years ago but nothing seems to have changed.

That was mainly outside the stadium.

The was an additional security gate line on the walk up the hill from Wembley stadium station just before you accessed the walkway outside the stadium.

Once inside it wasn't much different to an England game, although I would say that there was a visibly larger stewarding presence.

There was probably less drinking, certainly in my end, might have been different up with the BVB fans !

Finally it was a lot easier to get away from the stadium station than an England game, although on the downside I had to use Banbury rather than Warwick Parkway so that made the drive back a bit longer. But when you've seen your team win you don't mind that so much !

Yes, it's so unfair that Manchester City are prevented from spending enough money to dominate the Premier League, unlike the 'traditional' big clubs who haven't won the league in 4 of the last 6 seasons.

Gareth Southgate has named the 26 players for the Euros, missing out are:
Jack Grealish, Harry Maguire, James Maddison, Jared Branthwaite, James Trafford, Curtis Jones & Jarrel Quansah.
Some interesting names in the squad are:
Adam Wharton, Ebrechi Eze, Ivan Toney ( probably for his excellent penalty record), Kobbie Mainoo. The main gamble is Luke Shaw who is continuing to recover from injury.

Oh we are certainly capable of it. However it is worth remembering that in these final friendlies, players aren't likely to be giving it 110%. Nobody wants to get injured once they know they are in the final squad for the Euros. So the performance and result may not be reflective of the squad's capabilities. Will we win it? Probably not, but we do this to ourselves all the time, panic over a glorified training session.

That attitude you refer to is self-defeating as players are chosen for these friendly matches by the team manager just to see how capable they actually are.

All starts tonight. I expect a tight game but Germany will triumph.

Scotland have a good midfield and an OK defence but I just don't see where the goals are coming from.

I think Germany have been underestimated and will make the SF at the very least.
