Thinking about it, there's also "Shield" which has to fit in somewhere...Possibly two steps, plate coming in between - in Rugby Sevens teams eliminated early sometimes compete for 'The Plate'

I think it’s normally 1-4 playing for the Cup, 5-8 for the Plate, 9-12 for the Bowl, 13-16 for the Shield.Thinking about it, there's also "Shield" which has to fit in somewhere...![]()
I should hope the so-called fan was also ejected from the ground, if what was stated was true and I am now wondering if the so-called fan had committed an offence in law for the said action.Warrington Town’s goalie sent off for spraying the contents of his water bottle at a visiting Guiseley fan…….in response to the Guiseley fan urinating in it
Quite. Far from being shown a red card, the 'keeper should be awarded the Man of the Match bubbly!I should hope the so-called fan was also ejected from the ground, if what was stated was true and I am now wondering if the so-called fan had committed an offence in law for the said action.
At least that would be sealed with a cork and uninterfered with!Quite. Far from being shown a red card, the 'keeper should be awarded the Man of the Match bubbly!
Perhaps there should be a World Cup of "micro-nations"? I'd watch it if it was a thing.
Ecuador are quite a good team, first time ever watching either them or Qatar. Don't see how the goal after 3 minutes was offside2-0 now, i am sure Ecuador are a very popular team world wide right now.
There is: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/CONIFA_World_Football_CupPerhaps there should be a World Cup of "micro-nations"? I'd watch it if it was a thing.
Though CONIFA is specifically teams which aren't affiliated with FIFA, often breakaway states and separatist groups.
Qatar’s fans all left in the second half. Joke tournament.
I’m not going to watch any of the tournament partly out of protest but also because I can’t be bothered. I’ve no enthusiasm for it and it’s about time FIFA’s corruption was not rewarded. I hope the whole tournament is a disaster.
Advantages of being Scottish - can take the moral high ground all I wantThe side of me that’s ethical feels the same. The side of me that’s a glory hunter keeps thinking “Yeah but what if we start doing well?”
God I hate myself sometimes…

Careful - you might end up like that silly Tory MP who wouldn't watch England while they took the knee then had to pretend that a run to the final of the Euros was something he didn't care about missingI’m really struggling to find any kind of enthusiasm for this at the moment. I don’t know if tomorrow’s game might light some kind of faint spark in me but at the moment it’s leaving me completely cold.

I didn't think Qatar were a BAD side they just weren't at the required level.Expected result really, Ecuador are a decent tough South American team.
There has been a lot of talk about how popular football in Qatar is (and I am sure it is) but I think that means supporting big European teams, enjoying winning and expecting football always to be like that. It simply isn't like that and the result yesterday and response to that result was a stark reminder of thatQatar’s fans all left in the second half. Joke tournament.
There is no way it should be in Qatar. It is not a suitable country, even before we consider the backward approach to human rights displayed by the leadership of that country.
Their lawyers called - you have to write “FIFA World Cup“.Yet another reason why the World Cup should not have been awarded to Qatar in the first place. Crowd numbers at games not involving Qatar will be interesting.......
Cutting my toenails was more....The F1 Grand Prix and the WSL Football were far more entertaining than yesterdays World Cup match.
