Not a good day for football today. First Glenn Hoddle is taken ill and now the helicopter owned by the Leicester City owner has crashed into the car park at their stadium.

Good news coming through that Hoddle seems to be at least stable, although he is still classed as critical but the pictures of the helicopter crash don't look too good. Fingers crossed that those on board have managed to survive

A helicopter belonging to the owner of Leicester City has crashed outside the club's stadium.

Photos showed a huge fireball, while witnesses told Sky Sports News the helicopter took off from the pitch at about 8.30pm but lost control within a few seconds and crashed into car park E - the club's staff car park which is about 200 yards from the stadium.

Sky Sports News reporter Rob Dorsett said: "At about 8:30 this evening, eye witnesses told me they saw the Leicester City owners' helicopter take off from the pitch inside the King Power stadium - as it does after every home game - and after a few seconds it appeared to lose control.

"It sounds as if there was a problem with the rear tail propeller which sent it spinning out of control and it crashed into the car park at the rear of the King Power Stadium, just a few hundred metres away from where the pitch is, before it burst into flames."
It is not clear who was on board or their conditions.

Police said: "We are dealing with an incident in the vicinity of the King Power Stadium. Emergency services are aware and dealing."

Leicester chairman and owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was at the helm when the club shocked the football world by winning the 2015-16 Premier League title.

Oldham are not playing Haringey Borough in FA Cup, AFC Wimbledon are. Oldham are playing Hampton & Redbridge which I see that if you got BT Sports you can watch it live on Monday 12th November.

Not great result this for Oldham and make it worse that Northampton were playing with 10 men for good 50 mins of match as there player Foley got sent off for late tackle on Oldham player Missilou.

In last 24 hours at Oldham they have sacked Assistant manager Andy Rhodes moments before coach leave for Northampton game (not 100% why) and rumours going about that Latics owner are set to sacked Frankie Bunn aswell. I don't think that be right choice given he doing good job at Oldham on low budget but we see if that happens.

Redbridge were one of those teams swallowed up by the Dagenham/Walthamstow monster in east London.

Not #toosoon in my opinion, whilst it's obviously sad that he and his family are going through a tough time at the moment (and I hope he makes a good recovery), it'd be duplicitous of me to deny that the very same thought crossed my mind too.

Now that it’s been 24 hours is it probable to assume that all of the poor souls that were onboard the helicopter when it crashed last night died at the scene?
Perhaps we’re just waiting for confirmation of exactly who was on board?

I believe it's official that all five in the helicopter died, including the two crew members. The others involved have not been named, but it's known that the Thai owner was among them.

I think that Bamber Bridge have been drawn against another of those four promoted clubs, Hyde United, in the next round of the F A Trophy.

Both clubs are coming to terms with the higher standard of the Evo Stik Premier Division and Bamber Bridge started the season better than Hyde, but recent form saw Hyde putting a run of good results, but even so I was surprised by the result of the weekend F A Trophy match....

Sadly if what happened is what is being widely speculated (The tail rotor failed) then it is perhaps better it happened when it did and the pilot was bravely able to ensure that the aircraft span in to an empty section of car park rather than the stadium which still will have had a number of staff, emergency services and fans there. Ideally if the tail rotor failed it would be better at a higher altitude with greater forward speed. I remember from my youth watching a documentary called Test Pilot filmed at RAF Boscombe Down. With a bit of good luck a helicopter pilot can cut the engine and put the nose down to keep speed up which keeps the rotors turning to provide some lift and then attempt a crash landing. Once the aircraft was off the ground it was in a bad situation until it was fast enough and/or high enough for the pilot to get out of it. Perhaps even more ideally it could have happened before the aircraft got off the ground but again, if what is being speculated is correct then it will happen when the aircraft is under the most stress, at take off. If it happened on the ground or just as it left the ground it could have spun uncontrollably inside the stadium.

I was very surprised by Darlington’s gung ho attacking tactics at Bradford showing little respect for our league position. You took us apart in the first 20 mins then we settled. Having got back to 2-2 we give away yet another penalty, the 6th or 7th this season. Thankfully a great save by our keeper. All in all an excellent game.

I would have taken a point before hand as ba are going well but 2-0 up early and in control means I am disappointed with only coming away with a point. Yet another game thrown away.
