Pleased to see instant justice for Victor Moses yesterday. One of the worst dives I've seen. Absolutely diabolical.

This spreadsheet contains the league standings of the top six steps of the English pyramid (i.e down to National League North/South) as one large 160-team table. (Spoilers: Chelsea still come first). Feel free to peruse the statistics...

We're above blues which is the main thing

What? Someone actually got punished for diving? That's the biggest shock of the season!

No. There can be a maxumum of 7 clubs in Europe, so by having an extra place in the Champions League we lose a Europa League place.

England actually has FIVE teams in the Champions league - Chelsea, Spurs, Man City, Liverpool and TNS.

The easiest way into Europe is to pretend you are Welsh!

Three other former Northern Premier League clubs have made it into Europe - Wigan Athletic, Bangor City and Gretna (who had to stop pretending they were English).

Then surely we have six, given Man Utd qualified too.

How could I forget? The commentary on the Europa League final was nauseating, implying that all that mattered was qualifying for the Champions League next year, not winning a major European trophy this year. It seems money is more important than silverware to some people.

Although when was the last time the Welsh team got passed the qualification stage?

Poor old Leeds supporters, perhaps they should start a campaign to have Harry Kewell replace Monk before he gets settled in at Crawley

Is this a sick joke?

Harry Kewell played for Leeds the night two of our fans got murdered by Galatasaray fans.

...then he signed for Galatasaray and still claims he loves them.

Harry Kewell is not, and never will be welcome at Leeds.

Will there be more stringent sanctions for "diving" in the 2017/8 season and if so, will this be a universal FA policy?

Yes although, as ever, the efficacy of their enforcement remains to be seen and I shall not be holding my breath.

I would like to see video replays available for use on demand for simulation, refs to have mics for dissent and for both to be classed as professional fouls (i.e. a red card offence).

I'd go one further, and say, in cases where simulation leads to a penalty, which is then put away, for the goal to be docked from the team that scored it, affecting both teams involved in the league table (or a disqualification and reinstatement if it is a deciding goal in a cup competition)

Yes, I like football. I think it's funny, and when I was young I watched cartoon about football, very inspiring.

So after a season of pinching myself regularly, and remembering that anything above 21st for us is a bonus, it all comes down to the so-called "richest game in world football". Wish us luck!

This is a difficult one for me. I have family that are Reading fans, and friends that are Huddersfield fans. But I'd *love* to see Huddersfield make it, so on balance, come on you Terriers!

I'm looking forward to listening on BBC 5 Live. I'm old enough to remember Huddersfield's last stint in the top division and can vaguely remember their squad players appearing in the football card collections from that era.

I also always enjoyed away days to London Road with North End in the eighties.

It'd be great to have a fresh face in the Premier League who were once there.

Good luck from the proper side of the Pennines ! <D

I think a lot of England will be wanting Huddersfield to win. Not only would they be a new face in the PL, I (and a lot of others) will distinctly remember Reading being fairly anodyne and not adding much to the PL when they were there.

The first time Reading reached the PL they were anything but, played some really good stuff and finished 8th under Steve Coppell.

The second time around under Brian McDermott and then Nigel Adkins sounds more like what you are referring ti.

Jesus, promoted to the Premier League with a negative goal difference. Takes some doing that.

Welcome by the way. If we can have another 4-1 (or was it 4-0?) at the Galpharm it will be most appreciated. :p

There should be a cracking atmosphere on the Retro railtour back to Huddersfield this evening.

Interesting video from January 2004: York City V Huddersfield Town 2004
Peter Jackson said:
...If York had got a result and beat us, they could have been in the top 8, and that was the decline of York City, but that proved to us: we're on a march...
The fortunes of the two clubs could not have been more polarised since then; York City will now be five divisions below Huddersfield Town next season.

If anyone had told me a year ago that in a year's time my beloved Terriers would be in the Premier League, I'd have laughed and called the men in white coats! To paraphrase Michael Hefele, it's a f*****g dream!

Just rewind a few years, we played each other in the League One playoffs, and now both in the Premier League. Dreams are man-made, and make sure you don't wake up.

Have you pinched yourself yet?

Saw someone ask earlier in the thread if Huddersfield are the first team to get promoted with a negative goal difference? Can't find the answer, anyone know?

As much as it pains me to indirectly praise one of that lot from out east, thank god we don't have to endure the coma-inducing boredom that is Reading in the Premier League.

Congratulations on your return to the big time after all those years.

I was fortunate enough to attend today's game as a neutral and whilst after the initial 10 minutes the game was quite frankly awful, to you as a Terrier that really doesn't matter.

Good luck for next season.
