So this is what winning feels like? It's unusual fo sho

I'm tempted to say don't get used to it, but I've been a Town fan long enough to know better! I'm a happy terrier tonight though!

Great victory for Huddersfield and Hyde. I see my second team I'm supporting this season Droylsden are also joint top (well second) in Evo Stik Northern Premier League - First Division North after they beat Lancaster 3-1. :)

Oldham 0-0 Walsall

Shame same can't be said for Oldham as they played out a dull goalless game against Walsall but we probably had best of chance with Erwin hitting ball onto posts, two matches played in league matches and still Oldham haven't found back of net but aleast we don't bottom of league table anymore.

I'm sure you'll come good, there's plenty of teams worse than Oldham in that division.

Just a shame that the national media is all about Newcastle losing rather than Huddersfield deservedly winning. Newcastle weren't poor, we were just better.

Winchester City 0...Mangotsfield United 2 (Powell 29 pen, Warren 48)

Winchester City suffered another defeat at home against a well-organised side. City started slowly and went behind on the half hour after a penalty was awarded for handball; it seemed a harsh decision, as the player's hands were by his sides. Mangotsfield doubled their lead in the second half and City only started to play after an hour, by which time the visitors had closed ranks and were able to see the game out, despite City hitting the post.

Other Results:

Bideford 3...Wantage Town 1

Bishops Cleeve 1...Tiverton Town 1

Evesham United 2...Wimborne Town 0

Hereford 6 (SIX)...Bridgwater Town 0

Larkhall Athletic 0...Shortwood United 2

North Leigh 2...AFC Totton 3

Paulton Rovers 2...Didcot Town 0

Swindon Supermarine 4...Barnstaple Town 2

Taunton Town 3...Salisbury 1

Yate Town 1...Slimbridge 2

One quirk of the Southern League Division 1 Central at the moment is that Bedford Town are no longer the best team in Bedford !

Extract of league table having played three games

4 Kempston Rovers P3 W2 D1 L0 F5 A3 Pt7
21 Bedford Town - P3 W0 D0 L3 F2 A5 Pt0

Christ. I was expecting tedium in our game against Arsenal, then I remembered I had a ticket for it and couldn't afford to go.

It did, and it wasn't boring. Poor defence on both sides, Roberto Moreno should be shot (I may be a bit extreme there). Wish I'd been able to make it.

You have been taking heed of Trump too much...:D

Anyway, the final Premiership "opening day" (<(...damn these TV companies) fixture will see if West Ham United are still in the same frame of performance-mind as they were at the end of last season, when they play Chelsea....on Monday night

It was a decent game overall from Liverpool I thought, the passing was good and I liked the movement of players off the ball. I think Alberto Moreno is an awful left back to be honest, he gave away the penalty kick and I think he was at fault for the first goal as he gave Walcott far too much space. I hope Klopp gets another left back, and I still think a defensive midfielder is needed as well.

I thought Sadio Mané was excellent, he adds much needed pace and power to Liverpool's attack, and he definitely deserved his brilliant solo goal. I was very pleased with the attack today, hopefully that's a sign of things to come in the future. The defence does look shaky I agree, but I think signing a new left back could at least partially solve that problem.

If Klopp gives his bestie a call, we've a left-back with international experience going spare by the name of Jason Davidson. In fact, I'll pay for his train ticket to Lime Street!

Sad news coming in from the West Midlands, apparently former Aston Villa player Dalian Atkinson has died after being tasered by police. :(

Former footballer Dalian Atkinson has died after being shot with a Taser by police in Shropshire.
West Mercia Police said officers responded to a report of concern for the safety of a man at about 01:30 BST in the Trench area of Telford.
A Taser was used on the 48-year-old man and after receiving medical help, he was pronounced dead at about 03:00.
During a 16-year career, the striker played for Aston Villa, Ipswich Town and Sheffield Wednesday.

Why on earth have West Ham put Payet and Ogbonna on the bench? They start with Ayew (his debew), Nordtveit and Enner Valencia.

Chelsea start with Oscar - yes, Oscar - instead of Fabregas/Batshuayi. Kanté starts, however, with Pedro on the bench (Willian is on the wing).

Many teams are resting players that went deep into the Euros. Some only returned to training last Monday.

Wow! What a first touch!

Also Sergio Aguero managed to emulate Nahki Wells by missing two penalties in one game... Though he did also manage a hat trick!

Didcot Town 4...Winchester City 0 (Whitehead 1, Brooks 37, Reid 45, Powell 81, Ballard s/o 13; Wilson m/pen 39) att. 113

It's looking like a long season for Winchester City as they suffered their third defeat of the season. Didcot took the lead after just 10 seconds after a defensive mix up and City then failed to capitalise when Didcot's player-manager was sent off for picking up two yellow cards in as many minutes. Didcot duly got a second and then Sam Wilson's excellent (according to Oxfordshire Sports Online) penalty was stopped by the goalkeeper. Didcot then went 3-0 up before half time. The second half was much less eventful, but Didcot got a fourth with ten minutes left.

Shane Duffy has now scored 3 own goals, been sent off, and pulled of the captain's armband in a strop at half time - all in 2 games...
