Certainly consistency being shown by Hyde, as this was their third successive 0-4 home defeat. Hyde have only one match now to play...a home game against Halesowen Town. The situation is that Whitby Town are three points clear of Hyde with two games in hand, as you say one of these is played tonight.

Looking back on this season's results, Hyde once were fourth and beating top clubs in this league such as away league wins at Darlington (and an away win there in the FA Cup also) and at Salford City. So how has this disaster occurred?

I used to be able to attend Ewen Fields when I was in much better health and both my son and I were there not so very many seasons ago when they were in the Conference Premiership and Hyde comprehensively beat Woking 7-0 in that game.

Let us be thankful for small mercies and for the fact that Hyde have at least not repeated any game by the scoreline in an FA Cup match in the 1880's when Preston North End beat Hyde 26-0...

Whitby have won mean Hyde have been relegated for three season in row, what have happened at Hyde as like you said they were looking good for play offs or even promotion spot early on season?

John Sheridan has indeed brought more belief into the team since his appointment as manager.

He done good since he return at Boundary Park and if he was our manager start of season Oldham would been in play offs places and maybe even challenging for automatic places, aleast we may have very good season next season if he can keep it going like he have done.

Don't know if you saw my posting earlier about Hyde but you cannot fault Whitby Town who were home to ninth placed Barwell and won 2-1 tonight. The results tonight saw Hyde drop deeper into the bottom four to 22nd position.

Huddersfield came from a goal down early on to get a draw away at Rotherham, securing the point which completely extinguished any mathematical fears of relegation. Rotherham rode their luck in the second half but the point also puts safety within touching distance for them, being 9 points and a significantly superior goal difference clear of Franchise with 3 games to go. Hopefully by 4.45pm on Saturday the made-up team from the made-up town will be dropping down a division.

But for the issues it throws up with travel to games, I consider games against Barnsley, Rotherham and the 2 Sheffields to be West Riding Derbies despite the existence nowadays of South Yorkshire. This despite being born a full decade after the aforementioned Local Government Act was committed to velum.

Stockport were relegated 4 times when they slipped down the leagues.
This will be Hyde's 3rd relegation in as many seasons, hence one more relegation.

Of course... I wasn't attempting to get one over on you, just taking part in the debate. Apologies if it seemed like I was trying to score points.

Is Stockport's 4 successive relegations a record? Their decline was something my own team benefited from both with a big win at Edgeley Park before they dropped to the 4th tier, and with the cut-price signing of Anthony Pilkington who later moved to Norwich City for a healthy profit.

Winchester City obtained the final point needed to secure a playoff spot. Slimbridge took an early lead but Winchester responded quickly with Craig Feeney getting on the end of a Warren Bentley pass. In the second half City had a penalty but Warren Bentley's spot kick was saved before Micky Hubbard's free kick should have put City 2-1 ahead but the officials did not see it cross the line.
