Last night saw both Manchester City and Real Madrid progress to the semi-final stage of the Champions League.
And tonight saw Atletico Madrid put out Barcelona!
Slightly more predictably Bayern Munich overcame Benfica in the other semi final.

Yes, the truth certainly hurts![]()
Can someone other than SS4 or Minilad (without the rose tinted specs) please confirm the correlation between Martin O'Neill leaving and Villa falling apart.![]()
Seems a bit odd but Aston Villa have cancelled their player of the year awards, "in the current cirumstances we are sure our supporters will understand" a club spokesman said
now why would they do that? ..................

That didn't get a laugh last time

Bolton Wanderers are a recent example of how a once Premiership side will face life in the 2016/7 season later this year in League 1.
Stockport County are a prime example of how the fortunes of a once-Championship side faded so badly that even League 1, League 2 and Conference Premier was not the end of the downward slide to their current status as a Conference North side. (Apologies for using the old Conference terminology).
And... WE ARE BEING RELEGATED INTO THE NATIONAL LEAGUE!!!![]()
Liverpool - what a game! Great comeback but still not as good s the two comebacks by Middlesbrough in the UEFA cup v Bucharest & Basel in both the quarter and semi finals. The sound quality isn't fantastic but the commentary from the late Ali Brownlee is superb and what local radio commentary should be about.
BTW i was at all four games![]()

I guess - but that's never happened before...No you're not. You just need to hope Stevenage, Newport and Yeovil screw up and lose all their matches while you win all yours. There's still five games left in the season, after all.
anyone here a fan of Leicester City? its amazing what they have achieved so far this season!

Aston Villa down.
Is that the same as Watership Down....![]()
-In League 2, Blackpool, Doncaster and Colchester are all losing
-Doncaster and Blackpool have both fallen very far in recent years
-All 3 are losing, and all 3 look to be going down
No need to rub it in.![]()
Trouble is those days are gone. Unless you got a couple of Billion in the bank a team can no longer come from nowhere and get success any more
The rabbits would probably be better at football, but I think that Aston Villa would terrify more children.
Butts probably thinks that they'd be in with a shot of beating Birmingham City Martin O' Neill managed them...
I think that Leicester have proved him, and indeed all of us, wrong.
Breaking news: Aston Villa have been relegated to the Championship
FT: Newcastle 3-0 Swansea
Watford are now officially safe. Dagenham & Redbridge have been relegated, with York City *sigh* likely next through the trapdoor. Northampton are League 2 champions, Wigan lose to Doncaster 3-1 - relegation-threatened Doncaster have their first win in 17, Wigan have their first loss in 21. Cheltenham become National League Premier champions and become the first team in the modern era to bounce back into the Football League at the first opportunity.
I wonder who the most successful Leicester City Manager was before Ranieri...he guided them to three League Cup Finals two of which they won![]()
