Both managers have the same number of trophies (as managers), but Pearson got his in a shorter time frame.
Imho, there's no comparison. Pearson is the better candidate. Leicester's poor results in the middle of last season coincided with Kasper Schmeichel's injury. It's the team that Pearson built that's currently tearing the Premier league a new A-hole (although Schmeichel himself was signed by Sven-Göran Eriksson iirc). N'Golo Kanté was identified by the Foxes excellent scouting team, and Ostrich Man would have signed him had he been available.
The one thing I would say against Pearson is that he probably would not get instant results in the short term. He needs time and a relatively patient Chairman to do that voodoo that he does so well. I'm not sure if Villa could provide him with that.
Having said that, I don't think Moyes is the type of manager who can get instant results in the short term either. I'd choose Pearson.
As a Chelsea fan I've got to be delighted with a 0-4 away win but yes Villa were abysmal.
Bournemouth appear to have switched off having secured their premier league status.
Indeed they did, City looked like quite a good side out there. Just need to work on consistency now.

And this is why I have reservations. I watched that team twice last year and on both occasions they were abysmal. The FA cup game in particular they were dreadful. Another manager has come in and got them playing much much better. That doesn't say much for Pearson in my opinion
I'm in agreement with you here, the fact ranieri can come in and have the same group of players to perform so much better says Pearson wasn't doing that great.

I want Moyes. Proven to be able to work with an owner with deep pockets and short arms. Seems to me a Steady Eddie who will get on with the job and not cause too many headlines. A disciplinarian who won't stand for any nonsense from the players. Reports suggest he is interested. I would be going after him with all I have. If we don't get him then Newcastle will when they go down. And I think he would be the difference between staying down and coming back up.
Pearson I just have a few negatives with. Yes I know he built the Leicester team but it took another manager to get them playing winning football. And he's a nut job!
Moyes did really well with Preston and nearly got them promoted before he left for Everton. I'd be happy with him in the championship. It is sad watching Villa's demise, the supporters deserve so much better. I remember O'Neil's team absolutely destroying Reading in the FA Cup a few years ago! Hopefully they will come back quickly and in a better state.

The archetypal game of two halves.
In the first half the team looked like they'd been put together in the pub at 2.45pm. We were lucky to go in at half time just one goal down, it should have been 3 or 4. A deserved booing off and a couple of decent subs and suddenly the Vale defenders fell apart.
I'm almost ready to call that we'll stay up.

and who was it, that was at the helm, when Leicester started this fantastic run of form post Christmas 2015? Pearson, only got the flick, after his son and a few of his mates, appeared on 'YouTube' and upset the owners......

If you can get Moyes then that would be a good choice. Can the board satisfy him on ambition etc? Newcastle might get him first at this rate!

There was only a fantastic run of form from March. Jan - March saw a record of 2W 1D 11L in the league. March till the end of the season saw a record of 7W 2D 0L
Pearson was in charge during the 2-1-11 too

You are obviously anti NP, and you have that choice. Maybe you need a loon to set your team straight, with his discipline and attitude. He saved Leicester from the drop with this 'style', and he got the results needed, to avoid the drop. Villa this season, have been woeful at best. Pearson is marmite. I'd be surprised if he even entertains the job. Is it any wonder Gabriel, has taken to the shisha

I am not anti Pearson at all. I just would prefer Moyes. I am well aware of how woeful we have been thank you. I am season ticket holder. I also know a lot of our problems are due to a dressing room that is, quite frankly, out of control. I am not sure Pearson is what we need to bring the best from what we have due to his abrasive nature.
Of course he would entertain the job if it was offered. Despite the present situation Villa is still one of the biggest clubs around and if he could come in and do a good job then the rewards are obvious. And if he does come in then so be it. I would give him my support just as I would to anyone.
I couldn't agree more, it's Ranieri's management skills more than anything that have got Leicester where they are

Until it is mathematically confirmed, they are not safe.
Heard that Man City played exceptionally well yesterday, so the scoreline is not surprising.

I've said that his success is due to the amount of money that was made available to him. Under his reign we were one of the top spending clubs (with a correspondingly large wage bill) in the league and when Lerner put his foot down O'Neill walked out - 5 days before the start of the season. I believe his actions are the main reason why Lerner has been tighter on the purse strings in part leading to our current predicament. After all, we should not forget that Leicester's success this year has been an anomaly: only once since the foundation of the PL has the title not left London or Manchester.
On the pitch he was a good manager and got our best results. Until you got to spring that is when form would always languish - in my opinion this is because he would not use his bench or change his tactics: we played counterattacking football using fast strikers (especially Gabby back then) and did not have an answer when teams sat back.
tl;dr - a good portion of his success is down to cash

In a word. No. I couldn't care less what he has, or hasn't, done to any other clubs. I am only bothered about the effect he had on mine. And while he did give us a few good years he sowed the seeds for all that has happened since. Who knows what any of the managers that followed him could have done with the finance available to him

Hang on a minute! What has CR had at his disposal financially, prior to coming to the KP stadium? Always the bridesmaid surely? What has everyone else spent in comparison to what Leicester has cost this season? Granted, it's still to be won yet, however there is a secret in there somewhere and it's not all about finances... Leicester always sold for profit to survive, hence why they have always been a yo yo club, until this season, where something truly special has been built....."never give up" was the mantra last season. Unbelievably, they haven't...
Who is to say NP couldn't of kept his momentum going, if he hadn't needed to leave..?
