I'm not mad, just perpetually disappointed these days. I can see us going down - we're just not scoring enough

At least Leeds managed to get a late equaliser though :)

We should have had a trio of penalties in the 2nd half, I don't say this very often because I usually lay the blame at the my own team but the ref cost us dear yesterday. I'm surprised he managed to get out of the ground, it was truly a disgraceful performance that in my opinion requires investigating.

Birmingham very lucky to get a point and Leeds very unlucky not to win, probably the first time i've said that this season

Managed to find a clip of ONE of the decisions, Sam Byram's standing leg clearly swiped away by the brum defender. 100% blatant pen and this was only one of them. https://vine.co/v/OjDeF1K1lex

Anyone got a keeper they can let Scunthorpe Utd have?

Andrew Boyce was the 4th keeper used this season after both Slocombe and Severn both were subbed after breaking their arms.

You were probably due one if this is the first one you had all season.

Some of us thought the standards would have been higher coming up a division but imagine the disappointment.

Try David James. :D

So now we have another omnipotent idiot from the football arena giving us his wise words, I wonder when he read through the court papers to reach this level of knowledge

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30742947

If I was the owner of Hull City I'd be looking for a new manager today
Is Gordon Taylor for real

Taylor in Evans Hillsborough comment

Gordon Taylor has risked further controversy by appearing to compare the Ched Evans case with the Hillsborough tragedy.

After the convicted rapist's*move to Oldham collapsed,*the Professional Footballers' Association chief executive was asked about Evans's insistence that he is innocent.

"He wouldn't have been the first person to be found guilty, maintained their innocence and been proved right. We know what happened with Hillsborough," Taylor told BBC Sport.

"It's now unravelling and very different to how it was portrayed at the time, indeed by the police at the time."

Following a long campaign by families,*new inquests are being held*to investigate how 96 Liverpool fans died as a result of the Hillsborough stadium disaster on 15 April 1989.

Taylor did not elaborate further on this point but said it would be "very difficult" for Evans, 26, to stay in football following the League One club's change of heart.

"This Oldham situation has not made things any better for him, so it may well now take some time," said Taylor.

More than 70,000 people signed a petition calling on Oldham not to sign Evans, while a number of campaigners and politicians voiced opposition to the move for the Wales international.

"Having done a sentence, he is entitled to return," said Taylor, adding that then player's cause might be helped now the public knows "he is genuinely apologetic for the consequences of what happened".

The former Manchester City and Sheffield United striker was jailed in April 2012 for raping a woman, 19, at a north Wales hotel in 2011. He was released in October 2014 after serving half of a five-year sentence.

On Thursday, Evans apologised for the*"effects of his actions"*but continued to maintain his innocence.

He later issued a further statement blaming "mob rule" for the deal's collapse,*claiming*"the more radical elements of our society" had the "desired influence on some sponsors".

Oldham chief executive Neil Joy said there had been "vile and abusive threats, including death threats, made to our fans, sponsors and staff" over the proposed signing.

I did, I had the gooners down for a 0-1 win??????

Me too, and my reason being Yaya Toure is off playing Africa Cup of Nations. Look at Man City's recent history and they rarely win when he isn't in the side compared to in the side.

All went a bit pear shaped last night.
Local radio keep telling everybody the game is on even though Glasgow is in the middle of a snow storm. Game is called off after 25 minutes. Between that and a protest outside the stadium not a great night all round for the fans.

Whatever is happening at Rangers. Caretaker manager Kenny McDowell has tendered his resignation after only three games in charge, the first one being the 4-0 defeat by Hibernian.

Rangers paid Ally McCoist £800,000 a year to manage a team competing against the likes of Queens Park (who manage an attendance of around 700 at Hampden Park), and now can't understand why they've run out of money. Again.

Still, at least the referee for their League Cup semi-final against Celtic is a former Rangers season ticket holder and (allegedly) a member of the Orange Order

Rangers chairman, Sandy Easdale, has purchased a bloc of 1,014,000 shares which will now increase his shareholding to 6.45%. I wonder if this was an attempt to stave off the most urgent part of the cash crisis there. This share purchase will not affect his previous current voting rights percentage.

Suffice to say pretty fed up of the decisions at the moment. Together with the ruling against our owner things are turning very sinister. That foul resulted in a penalty and a red card.

We won the game 1-0 but we've been on the end of four absolutley awful penalty decisions in the last 2 games alone.

Add to that, the penalty we did get against Bolton should have seen their goal keeper sent off but the ref decided not too, despite the fact it was a clear goal scoring opportunity. Things are very worrying at the moment.

Oh give over. Same old Leeds, always whining.

Admittedly I'm as surprised as you are that the Football League actually had the cajones to declare a convicted fraudster as 'not a fit and proper person', but still, there's no conspiracy. Just as there wasn't back in 2007 when you should have been booted all the way to the foot of League Two, just like Rangers were in Scotland.

Look back through my posts, I lay the blame at my team the vast majority of the time.

Why should we have been booted back to League 2? The reason for the points deduction was the club tried to exit administration without a CVA (creditors voluntary agreement) totally different to the Rangers situation. You clearly know nothing about it and are just a Leeds hater, like many.

Carsen Young and Thaskin Sinawatra (sp) are fine but not dirty naughty old Leeds.

Things are very strange at the moment, to get 4 points from our last 2 games after conceeding 2 penalties that never were, a red card and being denied 3 blatant penalties is quite an achievement. And before you ask, I follow my team home and away, I don't sit listening to Jeff Stelling and his merry men on a Saturday afternoon from my armchair :)

The Premier League has different rules to the Football League. So yes, according to the rules, they were both "fine" (and Shinawatra hasn't actually been convicted of anything IIRC). Although given that neither of them actually own a Football League club anymore (at least officially) I'm not sure what the relevance is?

The situation was exactly the same, to do with transferring the share to a new company without settling the debts of the old one. It had nothing to do with the CVA and nothing to do with nasty old HMRC, despite Ken Bates' best efforts to persuade people otherwise.

When you look at the penalties applied to other clubs that season- Rotherham United and Bournemouth were given 17 point penalties and Luton Town (whose behaviour was better than Ken Bates') were effectively kicked out of the League with a 30-point penalty- Leeds United got away with it very lightly indeed.

Incorrect, we got a 25 points penalty, a fact often missed by many. Our punishment was far greater than Rotherham and Bournemouth. It was competley to do with the CVA, check the facts. At the time, the punishment was unprecedented.

Leeds United didn't get away lightly at all, you sound like just another Leeds hater sadly. Who is it you support?

It always makes me laugh when total non-entity teams turned up at Elland Road or we go away to them and their fans sing "We all hate Leeds scum" and "your not famous anymore" A total oxymoron right there.

I know that was the Bates spin on it, fine and upstanding gentleman that he is, but you didn't. You got 10 points for going into administration, but you went into administration the day you got relegated to avoid it being an issue. The Football League then changed the rules to stop other teams taking the wee-wee in the same way.

You later got a 15 points for transferring the golden share without paying your debts. That compares with 17 for Rotherham and Bournemouth (both teams ironically now doing better than you lot) and 30 for Luton, who only managed to get back into the League last year.

You know who I support but, whilst it's always nice to see you lose, hate is a very strong word. For a set of fans who try to claim "nobody likes us we don't care", you lot sure do a lot of whining. Given the Chief Executive of the Football League used to be Ken Bates' stooge at Leeds, I don't really buy into the whole conspiracy theory. Unless you're trying to argue that a convicted fraudster is, after all, a fine and upstanding person and perfectly qualified to own a football club.

Wasn't the total 25 for 2 different reasons though, 10 for going into Admin, 15 for not agreeing the CVA...

I must admit, while I have no love for Leeds and cannot stand them, I did feel sorry for them...My opinion on what should have happened, something similar to what would happen to us(Darlington) in 2012, multiple relegation, I said it at the time Leeds should have at least been demoted to Conference North...When it happened to us, I feel we were harshly dealt with being put in the Northern League, but with Leeds and Darlington it was different times, different rules...Despite not taking any pleasure in wanting to see what happened to us and Leeds, clubs should be harshly punished for breaking rules. While we were dealt with harshly imo, we ultimately broke the rules, and had to pay the price...The one thing about our treatment, we were seen as a new club by the FA and teams like Leeds were able to continue as if nothing really happened

I liked the dig in there about Rotherham and Bournemouth being better than us, clear Leeds hatred ;) Actually, we are ahead of Rotherham in the league and we beat Bournemouth last night, becoming the only club to have doubled them this season.

It doesn't matter how you dress it up, the penalty we got was 25 points, that's just a fact.

I don't know who you support but Hemel Hempstead probably means your a Manchester United fan as your in the main catchment area. ;)

At the time the penalty was unprecedented. And it can be argued that the FL continues it's vendetta both on and off the pitch we are still being penalised today.

I think we have conceeded 8 penalties this season. Most of them have been horrific decisions.

I'm a Bantam. HOOF!

They probably were, but generally the standard of refereeing is getting worse. The idiot in charge of our cup replay with Millwall was a great case in point, they should have ended up with eight men on the pitch yet it's us that get charged with "failing to control the players". Yeah right. I do wish Parkinson would keep his gob shut though, referees give us nowt these days and I think his mouth is why.

As ReverendFozz says, Leeds got treated a lot more fairly than many other teams did, especially teams in the Conference. Look at what happened to Darlington, Scarborough, Halifax Town and Chester, not to mention what's going on now at Hereford. If Leeds hadn't been a "big club" they'd have been booted out of the League entirely. It isn't just Leeds who get the "big club" help though, why Coventry City weren't booted out of the League for what they did goodness only knows.

Yawn.

I was actually enjoying the discussion up to this point - while there were contrasting points of view, I actually learnt a fair bit from it. However I don't see what cheap shots at other teams/ their fans adds to the discussion.

Bradford City fans (along with those pesky terriers) spend most of their time telling us we aren't a big club? So which one is it?

Not far of the FA Cup 4th Round, Bolton have their work cut out for them with 7 Players unfit to play including our best Midfielder and one of our Best Strikers (saying that we still beat Sheff Wed who have been on excellent Form as of late!)

It was clearly a joke Adam. That's why I added the wink. I meant no offence to Man Utd fans on here.

None taken! :)

On a slightly related note, are you aware of any transfer business for Leeds in January, or is it more likely to be a last minute loan signing?

I see you've lost Noel Hunt (Ipswich) and Warnock (Derby) - are they much of a loss or quite handy to have them off the wage bill?

I was at the Macron Stadium a couple of weeks ago, Pratley looked like your best player on that day.

At the moment we aren't allowed to sign anyone for transfer fees.

Noel Hunt had a nightmare at Leeds, didn't score once so it was right for all parties that he moved on

Stephen Warnock will be missed, he's been our most consistent player this season and although we do have a talented young lad to replace him he's very inexperienced, looked nervy last night especially in the 2nd half.

I just hope last night's victory is a sign of things slightly changing, it was a decent, solid performance.

It doesn't matter how you dress it up, the penalty we got was 25 points, that's just a fact.

Rotherham and us both got 27 points deducted by your calculation - 10 for entering administration, and 17 the following season for failing to exit administration in the "correct manner", ie. having a CVA agreed.

Leeds set the precedent with the latter deduction (15 points in your case) after what is perceived by many as cheating the system when you took the 10-point hit after your relegation was all but confirmed. (I refuse to pass judgement on this measure because I have vested interests in it, just like you.)

Rotherham and us both got hit with 17 points, after allegedly going into administration twice in ten years, despite our previous one being 11 years before, but it's not like the Football League ever cared about the technicalities. Luton were hit with 20 as they had been in admin three times in the previous ten years, plus another ten for financial irregularities (therefore they started on -30 in the 2008-09 season), so a total of 40 points deducted over two seasons.

I won't pass any comments on last night, because it will likely be seen as sour grapes, and what my mate (who braved the freezing temperature) said to me this morning would be unsuitable for general audience viewing. Leeds are kinda like our bogey team atm and yesterday was allegedly the worst performance of the whole season we had.

I am not bothered by one game. There are still plenty of points up for grabs.
