GMP were claiming no knowledge even after their chief had made public comment that he was aware of comments but couldn't do anything until the club reported.

That's not quite what GMP said. They said that they asked the club about the "theats". Other than a bit of "low-level Twitter abuse" (their words) there was nothing.

Still, making baseless allegations is useful rhetoric. It certainly distracts from the truth: the only "threats" were financial, and they were made by sponsors who (for some unfathomable reason) don't want their company associated with a registered sex offender.

Oldham 2-2 Doncaster (Thanks to ref for second game in row )

It was going well and we had two goal lead (goal line technology would came in use for second goal if this game was Premiership match) then turning point of this match came with 15 mins left when our player Mills got sent off but I felt Doncaster player should also been sent off at same time, Doncaster then scored three mins after sent off then in 95 mins last kick of match Doncaster equaliser which I feel we were robbed all three points.

Oldham are now 13th in table but it show you how tight League One is as we are only five points behide play off but only six points ahead of relegating zone but we did have two games in hand so beat Rochdale and Barnsley and Oldham could found themselves back in top 6 places.

Well, a week is a long time in football, and in the last eight days we've seen extremes of garbage and brilliance at the Weak Beer Stadium. The Championship is a weird, weird division! We will have to hope we're the featured game on the Football League Show more often, as that's a maximum 6 points from the two games so far. Looks like the Premier League have decided to keep Everton v Liverpool a teatime kickoff despite the tendency to have local derbies earlier seemingly against police and council advice.

It is within the realms of possibility that I am being too harsh on the premier league but I cannot see why they'd decline apart from the fact it'd cost them.

Next month's Everton v Liverpool derby at Goodison Park will remain a teatime kick-off despite council objections, the Premier League has ruled.

Liverpool City Council had asked that the Saturday 7 February fixture, set to begin at 17:30 GMT, start earlier.

The request followed Merseyside Police identifying the weekend game as having a higher risk of disorder because of the late kick-off time.

However, the Premier League has said the time will not be changed.

In a report to the ground safety advisory committee in December, Merseyside Police said it did not support the start time, stating weekend games should kick-off no later than 13:30 GMT.

We had a similar thing with the Leeds game being 3pm Saturday for the first time in a while earlier this season. Though I think that was down to (a) a reduction in trouble in recent years, and (b) West Yorkshire Police getting their hands (and pockets) burned by their over-zealous restrictions on Hull City fans when they came to Huddersfield in their promotion season.

Presumably it's on TV and games on TV can't be shown at 1500 on Saturdays because it is deemed that people who support, say, Brighton and Hove Albion, would rather sit at home watching Liverpool Vs Everton and not watch the clubs they actually support.....or something like that.......

There has to be some backbone inserted into certain bodies and the Police's objection should be taken heed of. You just cannot allow an entertainment industry to ride roughshod over their views. A Merseyside derby is going to attract a very large number of people travelling to see the game.

Perhaps clarification of the law and amendments by those charged with the legal governance for such matters should be enacted without delay.

You should also remember that football clubs pay nothing like the cost to the Police, which is a cost to the taxpayer of course, football clubs should be paying the full price for policing, they're quick enough to hand out ridiculous amounts to buy players and fill their pockets with ludicrous salaries and then whine when they are asked to pay a decent amount towards policing
