Squad size reduction from 25 to 21 players, can't see that being much of an issue

I think it'll be more of an issue than you think. Eight of the players must be "home grown" and three must be goalkeepers. Citeh aren't going to be able to name all of their foreign superstars and that'll not be ideal for them.

Citeh must be the only instance of a foreign Muslim family coming here and being given a Council House without The Sun screaming about it

As for Sunderland, they should have been docked points. Middlesbrough had three points deducted, relegating them, for less in 1997. That one will run and run, just as the West Ham saga did. Although there seems to be little consistency in decision making these days. My team, Bradford City, were booted out of the FA Cup last season for accidentally fielding an ineligible player, but we were reinstated on appeal.

Has anyone noticed how Hull City have collapsed in the last few weeks ? - Just as well they got their 37 points when they did !!

Both eyes on the Cup Final next week.

And do 4 of those not have to be 'home grown at club', or is football manager not a true reflection of reality?!

After Richards you have Boyata (30 appearances in 8 years - one in league this season) and then a couple of players in this season's First team squad with five appearances (all FA/League Cup) between them.
Maybe they can pick up some home grown players when the transfer window opens

Based on the rules Sunderland can only be deducted points won in the games he played. A grand total of 3 losses and a draw, so 1 point available for deduction, this won't make any difference other than swapping Sunderland and villas league positions

Aren't players under a certain age allowed to be classed as home grown?

Unlimited under 21 players, who can come from wherever and do not have to be named in any squads.

Yes but they must have been in the UK for a certain number of years under a certain age.

Looking like its Leeds United.

David Haigh was in court for misuse of club funds installing surveillance cameras, and he has claimed the cameras were due to his attempt at catching who the drug misuse within the club was.

Today is the deadline day for the clubs to agree to the strictures insisted upon by EUFA on the clubs who were cited.

It is interesting to note that at the end of the penultimate day, all clubs save one have either come to agreement or are on the point of with their acceptance of the EUFA strictures. That solitary club is Manchester City whose views on the matter see them very unhappy with the requirements of these, so the coming 24 hours will be very interesting indeed as to the final outcome of this matter.

Scunthorpe United have announced their retained list today.

The club has released Christian Ribeiro, Etienne Esajas, Andy Welsh, Connor Jennings, Michael Collins, George Grayson, Jamie Wootton and Paul Hayes. The only real surprise there is Paul Hayes, who is a quality player. However, I can understand the decision, as Sam Winnall and Paddy Madden are still contracted to the club, plus new contracts have been offered to Deon Burton, Gary McSheffrey, Matt Godden and Callum Howe.

It's good to meet a fellow non-league fan! We've been suffering in the Southern League Premier for three years, but the club has finally stabilised after the previous owner screwed us over, and we're now on the up! It's good to be back in the Conference South.

Forgive me for omitting both Macclesfield Town and your good self from my posting (and I reside in Greater Macclesfield)....

It's a start but it's still not really punishment. Almost any amount of money is going to be chump change for those clubs, 21 instead of 25 players will barely make a dent. Wage restrictions are set at equivalent to this season (I wonder how many players will sign new contracts by the weekend?). Points deductions and/or expulsion is the only way they'll learn but UEFA dare not bite the hand that feeds it. FFP rules are practically designed to not rock the boat after all. The best way for FFP to work is through abolition of the Champions League

An interesting development is the announcement by Arsene Wenger that his personal view on this matter is that any football clubs who break the rules of the Football Financial Fair Play ruling should be excluded from participation in European club competitions.

Well then, that's one who has certainly nailed his colours to the mast..

Good luck Alty today - proper club and proper ground. Had a few good days out there with Gainsborough Trinity in the past.

Always thought they were unlucky not to get up into the league itself when they enjoyed success prior to automatic promotion from the Conference in the late 1980s.
