In other Championship news, Charlton's new Belgian owners have decided to relieve Chris Powell of his position today, one day ahead of them hosting Huddersfield at the Valley. Amazingly, Mark Robins of HTFC and technically Brian McDermott of Leeds are now among the Championship's longest serving bosses!

I should be optimistic about tomorrow especially with Charlton in turmoil, but what happened at Elland Road a few weeks back has tought me not to count my chickens!

I feel for Chris Powell. Some might argue that they've struggled since promotion and haven't really progressed, but he's not had a huge amount of money to invest in the transfer market and the problems they've had with the pitch are hardly the manager's fault. He was a Charlton man through and through, and I don't think there'd been any significant calls for him to go from supporters despite them being at the foot of the table- and these being supporters that (based on my admittedly limited observation of visiting supporters in the King's Head before 3 games this season) do seem to have rather unrealistic expectations of where the club's 'natural' position should be, having being semi-established in the top flight until relatively recently.

A very harsh sacking I totally agree. I have a lot of respect for the guy. He is well-spoken, comes across as intelligent and someone who really knows his stuff in interviews, and very professional and gracious in defeat.

Charlton's financial problems cannot have helped. I wonder how many managers can cope with having two of the best players sold against his wishes mid-season for relative peanuts when fighting against relegation, and then seeing very little in replacement.

But again I guess football has become a sport so fixated on imminent results these days that his sacking is almost inevitable once they hit the bottom of the table. The effects of relegation is almost unthinkable for a team in their situation.

Hyde got relegated last night as they lost 3-0 to Alfreton and it was Hyde 30 defeat this season only good thing for Hyde dropping down to Conference North is that they play like of Altrincham, Stockport and Stalybridge (if Stalybridge doesn't got relegated this season) which are they local teams and surely Hyde will win many matches next season then they have this season.

As for Oldham they lost 2-0 to Rotherham last night and Oldham were poor well crap we are only two points ahead of Tranmere who are 21st in table and if other teams around Oldham win this weekend and Oldham lose to Crewe then we will found ourself in bottom 4.

I don't think Oldham will get relegated this season but we do need to beat Crewe and Crawley in our next two matches special we got Orient and Brentford who are 2nd and 3rd in table and both playing well.
