So your argument is that the incident is so obviously not a handball that it doesn't even merit a 5 second replay to prove it one way or the other?

This despite it being broadcast by BT Sport who elsewhere on the broadcast chose to relive such riveting moments as members of the crowd yawning and the back of dozens of players heads.

Got it.

There's no bias against Manchester United from fans or the media, yet decisions that went in the favour of United a decade ago are still repeatedly mentioned, analysed and criticised, while for decisions potentially against United we don't even get to see if they are truly against United because the TV companies don't bother showing them and they are either never mentioned or forgotten about within seconds and anyone trying to bring them up is shouted down?

Well I guess so after watching the clip you provided. I really don't think it was even worth debating. And if you think it is some media bias against Man U you have obviously skipped the last 20 or so years.

If you want to see bias scroll back a few pages where you can see someone refering to Liverpool fans as bin dippers. I'll be honest I wasn't flattered.

There need not be another post on this subject.

Although I did believe the goalkeeper handled the ball out of the area my argument only ever was that there was a possibility that he had, and the lack of scrutiny given to it wasn't what you would expect had the incident involved a Manchester United goalkeeper.

However, people have argued that the reason it didn't merit any scrutiny or debate is that the ball was so obviously not handled outside the area.

While my argument doesn't depend on evidence of handball, the counter argument that it was clearly not a handball does, and I think this new evidence I have discovered now shows conclusively it is wrong.

Just like no outfield player would intentionally handle the ball to clear it off the goal line, considering the risk of him being sent off? Why would a player like Wayne Rooney intentionally kick other players on occasion considering they would likely be sent off? But players routinely do these things and nobody second guesses if they intended to do it or not.

I am beginning to wonder if the administrators and moderators would consider opening up a new dedicated subject thread on the General Discussion forum called....

"Manchester United's disputed decisions and associated conspiracy theories"

All this ref complaining by Moyes is a smoke screen and he just seems to be 'papering over the cracks' over United's problems and his managerial shortcomings.

Anyway, onto tomorrow, its the FA Cup 3rd round and I'm off to see my team take out Grimsby to ease onto round 4!!

Yeah mate, look at that clip again. His hands are over the line as is the ball and it looks like he could easily have pushed the ball over the line from the right side. If you honestly think there is a media campaign against Man U you are frankly deluded. There is really nothing else to say about the subject, most would think that things work the other way. Please deal with it, Man U are having a crap season so far and it isn't the fault of the press, its because your team have been crap for a while, now you don't have the worlds best manager making up for it.

At the moment this picture was taken, no, he was not. No part of the ball at least touches the penalty area.

I disagree. Was he holding the ball? If not, I think it unlikely that in the split second his hands touched the ball, it would have moved together with the ball this far out of the line. In this instance, I think there is a good chance that a foul was committed.

I have been observing the whole discussion on issues relating to Man Utd over the last few months. I think one will be kidding himself to think that other football supporters do not view Man Utd in a slightly different light to other teams. They have been hugely successful, and since the inception of the top league their achievements cannot be matched by any other club in this country. They used to have a genius of a mouthy manager whose arrogance is unparalleled. They have some absolute gems of a footballer, and some of them are absolute morons at the same time. They are filthy rich, and owned by an American whose success in franchising goes against the very principles of how football clubs are run in this country... All of those things make you the centre of attention, and not all of it will be positive. But that is all part of football. Everything Man Utd do will be closely scrutinised. Everything a Man Utd player does will be debated to death. Mistakes and errors by a Man Utd player will be closely watched by many and blown out of proportion at times. There are many people who will be wanting them to fail, and dare I say, many more than those would wish for the same on other teams, not out of jealousy or spite, but desire for their own teams to become just as successful.

But so what? Isn't that what football banter is all about? Football is not an exact science and there are plenty of things which the spectators can debate to death and not reach a satisfactory conclusion. Football is a game of passion and like it or not we are all affected by it no matter how unbiased we all believe we can be. I don't believe for a second a true football fan who follows his own home team can honestly say that he is not a little bit biased. But that is all part of why we love this game.

It is only a game. I don't believe anyone in this thread is deliberately targeting any other forum member or any other team in any shape or form, it is strictly football, and never without colour spectacles, as football should be. If you happen to be a Man Utd supporter, it comes with the territory, and comes with supporting Man Utd, just as any Leeds supporter, or Millwall supporter will tell you.

Wolves manager Kenny Jackett will be gone before the end of January after yet another terrible display losing at Gillingham tonight.

Can I just say that I and Butts Junior had a wonderful day at Anfield yesterday, being a "mini fat cat" in The Premier Club for the Hull match.

With the quantity and quality of food included in the package I can understand why people are late to their seats for kick off. The fayre inside is a lot better than that on the pitch sometimes. :p

Liverpool should have buried Hull yesterday by at least five or six, so I am discounting them as potential Champions. I believe Manchester City will win the title.

I note you have been modest in not crowing about a rare away victory for Villa yesterday

And yet we're better away than at home :(. I was going to crow for a bit but work got in the way and then the thread blew up re: Manchester United.

I hope we get an early goal against the blades to settle nerves and get through but if we don't it's totally because we're concentrating on the league

Thanks for that. I take it you're very close with Moxey and Morgan to state that so confidently.

I thought we played well tonight and I'm not quite sure how we haven't won, never mind lost. I'm very disappointed at the moment.

As a Wolves fan since 1970 I can assure you I'm not too chuffed either.

Interesting news recently that Fulham have loaned Clinton Dempsey for a couple of months.

I think that is a good move, a player that knows the club and the fans and might just help them put a little run together and get clear of relagation.

West Ham seem to be the team in the most bother at the moment, Sam Alladyce days must be numbered

Correct. Although current rumours that Greater Manchester plod are going to march us from Rochdale railway station all the way to the ground tomorrow are slightly worrying.

It's about a 45 minute hike and my girlfriend is currently on crutches. Hope dibble see sense and let us get a taxi.

You said you disagree and then almost completely agree with me. Is there a conspiracy against Man U or not? I don't think so.

Did you mean a foul was probably committed? Apologies if so, as I read your post to mean that no foul was committed because he could have pushed the ball over the line so no intention initially.

As to whether there is a conspiracy, I cannot possibly say. I don't have an opinion either way. It is not something that can be remotely proven anyway so everyone can be correct whether they think there is or not. It will always remain a mystery and attract fierce debate.

Just to say sorry for my comments earlier, I was understandably very hacked off. The lads in the office have been taking the mickey all night.

We desperately need to strengthen in the transfer window. I have faith in Kenny to do so and think he's a good manager. If he doesn't my opinion may change very rapidly.

After Lambert's comments about the FA Cup this week, for some reason I expect to see your youth/ reserve team line up for the cup match.

I too have faith in the manager but no faith whatsoever in Morgan and the Pieman to spend any of the bulging cash-pile on the right players, I think the play-offs are likely with a bit of luck.

According to The Sun today, tomorrow will be only the 5th time a father and son have been on opposition sides for an FA Cup tie. (Brendan and Anton Rodgers)

Anyway, onto tomorrow, its the FA Cup 3rd round and I'm off to see my team take out Grimsby to ease onto round 4!!

Despite us looking largely brilliant in pretty much every game since Brum at home, I'm afraid I don't share your optimism- this game has 'banana skin' written all over it for me!

EDIT: And as if by magic...

Of course it had to be Ross Hannah, an ex-Bantam, who scored it too! Oh well, we can concentrate on the league, as the cliche goes...

EDIT 2: Back into it through Ollie Norwood, but don't want a replay!

EDIT 3: Think I may have tempted fate with that last edit. I'll shut up now...

I don't think our Aston Villa and Leeds fans will be happy tonight as Rochdale won 2-0 against Leeds and Sheff Utd have won 2-1 against Villa, well done to Rochdale and maybe they get local team in R4, one of Manchester sides, maybe Bolton and even Oldham in draw :) (Yes I joking about Oldham as Liverpool will beat us probably 7-1 tomorrow afternoon)

Also well done to Macclesfield as they draw 1-1 to Sheffield Wednesday and it mean Macclesfield will get more money for that replay in which they did it.

You have fell sorry for 18 Hyde fans who went to Gateshead today only to see Hyde lose again this afternoon by losing 4-0, other Tameside club Droylsden also lose 4-0 today mean both Tameside clubs still haven't won a game this season. :(

Come on, let's face it, that particular group are always grumbling anyway. In fact, it could be argued that having their sense of doom heightened is what makes them truly happy.;)

Well, given how close we came to being on the wrong end of an upset, I'll not bask in Leeds' misery! That said, the last time we were beaten by a non-league side in the FA cup we finished the season with promotion (albeit from the 4th tier of English football rather than the 2nd!).

As for Tameside clubs, would that not also include Stalybridge Celtic? A side I remember most from narrowly beating Emley F.C. (Later known as Wakefield) to promotion to the Conference in the late 1990s.

I was more talking about Tameside clubs who haven't won this season (Droylsden and Hyde) then other Tameside clubs (Ashton United, Curzon Ashton and Stalybridge) who seen to be doing ok this season.

Two substitutes winning a cup match for Cardiff from behind.
Solsjaers managerial approach looks the same as his playing days from that. Come on as a sub, team behind to win with goals from subs!

Close game for Darlo today - just the 6-0 win! That and Dan Burn starting for Fulham at Norwich which netted us £75k makes it a decent day all round!
