The full report can be found at http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24803288 I had just read this and came here to mention it and Paul beat me to it!

Oxford's Dave Kitson may have just got himself in hot water with the FA, however if this is true, then I hope the ref is punished and not the player:

He was awful the ref on Saturday. Another incident was a foot race with Ryan Williams and a rovers defender onto a through ball. Whack! Williams clotheslined. Ref plays on (waving his hands, so he saw it). Williams on the deck heavily winded.

Hearing the other incidents, it seems that Kitson was the one who was prepared to speak out as he's the one who can afford the fine. Others interviewed were reluctant to comment anymore than comments that kept them out of trouble, such as they didn't think the ref had a good game.

Before anyone comments, fair play to Rovers, they took the chance they were given. We missed 2 sitters before the penalty which should have ensured our victory. If we're to win, we have to take these chances.

Justice has been done in Man Utd's match ....

Ashley Young conned the ref into giving a penalty, and RvP misses the spot kick ....

I haven't seen the incident yet but I hope Mr. Moyes is vocal in getting retrospective punishment for Ashley Young, like he campaigned for oh so much a few months ago.

Notable was the silence for 'justice' when a Fulham player kicked a United teenager then stamped on him over the weekend without seeing a card.

Or how about the silence following the reverse fixture of tonight's game, a few weeks ago, where a head high boot made contact with a United player's face and again with no card being shown. Of course in a certain high profile game last season where a United player tried to control the ball with a high boot and was sent off, causing the elimination of the team, there were plenty arguing that decision was right.

Manchester City are through to last 16 after they beat CSKA Moscow 5-2 and Bayern Munich also through to last 16 with 1-0 win against Viktoria Plzen.

Man Utd draw 0-0 to Real Sociedad and Fellaini got sent off for second yellow card, win against Bayer Leverkusen in three weeks times and Man Utd will go through to last 16 and will finish top of group A.

In League One, Wolves draw 2-2 to Carlisle mean they are two points behide top of table Leyton Orient but are now four points ahead of Peterborough in third place, Bristol City won 2-0 against Crawley and is they first win at Ashton Gate since beating Middlesbrough on March 9th.

And I now believe that Fulham player has been punished in retrospect. I will admit to being unaware of the reverse fixture's incident and I'm sure you remember well what I (and just about everyone else) though of Nani's red last season. To be honest it's probably the only contribution of any size he's made to a Man United game in the last 18 months. I think the overriding factor here is that Young's reputation proceeds him - if it was Rooney, Carrick or even RvP who'd done the same I don't think there'd be as big an uproar, but the fact that Young has done it several times before in key situations makes it stand out and come under the spotlight.

He has been punished in retrospect but I've heard several people complain (not here) that he shouldn't have been and that his punishment is an example of some sort of pro-United conspiracy. The most remarkable thing about the whole incident, the thing that Fulham fans should be more annoyed about than anything else, is that a few minutes later at full time he was like a child on christmas morning when he swapped his shirt for a United one.

Doesn't look like someone who's team has just conceded three at home.

Yeah Sacha Rither or something has been charged by the FA, it looked deliberate to me, the FA was correct to take action imo. Unlike Manchester United's Wayne Rooney when he poleaxed James McCarthy with an elbow. Not sent off and no action taken.

It's also worth noting at the weekend that offside was a key factor in Man Utd's goals against Fulham in addition to a blatant foul on Scott Parker in the lead up to a goal. Not mentioned at all on here, wasn't going to mention it myself but mentioned tonight on balance from Joe's post. Which appears to have found us all guilty of a crime we haven't committed.

Well done to Manchester City, they have finally got through a champions league group stage. I have to say, i'm not convinced by Pantilimon, looked shaky under a few high balls. I'm sure someone mentioned their 3rd choice is Richard Wright, not heard of him for years.

Also, it looks like Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane are to take the Rep of Ireland job.

I'll have to go back and see what your reaction to the Nani red was. I remember some thought it was ridiculous and some attempted to justify it.

As for Ashley Young, I'll admit he went down easily tonight and was clearly looking for a penalty but he still had his shirt tugged. A couple of other times tonight United players could have won penalties but didn't make enough of it for the referee to take notice. That happens in most other games and with all other teams, where things that would be given as fouls in any other part of the pitch are ignored unless the attacking player makes a big deal of it.

As a United fan I find the amount of attention he's getting especially odd because he doesn't really play that much. If you were to go on what opposition fans think you might believe Young was playing (and diving) every week, but thankfully he doesn't make the team that often.

That happened two and a half years ago. You might as well have brought up the Pedro Mendes goal from 2005 while you were at it.

All three United goals were level. It has been pointed out before that goals must be given unless the officials are certain a player is offside, so all three decisions were correct.

If your complaints about United are either about things that happened three seasons back or correct decisions in their favour then there can't be too much for you to complain about these days.

Just seen on Sky Sports news for this sunday

Tottenham v Newcastle at 1200
Sunderland v Man City at 1400
Man Utd v Arsenal at 1610

All on live. Very rare there is three live games on the same day.

It's totally irrelevant when it happened. The fact is that the FA have taken a course of action with the Fulham lad (quite rightly imo) that they failed to take with a Manchester United player. When you see the outcry from scientists about Lloris playing on after being concust it does make Rooney's actions all the more sinister, but as then, no punishment.

I disagree they were level, for one in particular he was in front of the defence in addition to the foul on Scott Parker which again went unpunished and lead to a Man Utd goal.

The bigger issue he has at the moment is the apparent backlash from Manchester United fans over the signing of Fellaini.

The BBC live text thing was lit up earlier. Certainly a few people at work have questioned it too. Many saying that Baines would have been a more useful addition.

It's relevant because the same incidents in United's favour are brought up whenever a decision goes against them, and only the fair response to it would be for me to list every decision to go against United in the same period, which would be a very long list.

The fact is that the FA have taken a course of action with the Fulham lad (quite rightly imo) that they failed to take with a Manchester United player.

Or that they also failed to take in the previous match where two or three Stoke players should have seen red and weren't. Or that they have failed to take for almost every incident ever going back years involving every teams. But make sure you bring up the same old example involving Rooney from three seasons ago

Considering the previous responses in this thread about the serious issue of brain injuries in sport I am not surprised to see the point completely missed again. The problem is that it's ridiculously dangerous to injure your brain and then go right back out there and potentially injure it again. Lloris should have been prevented from continuing and something Rooney did three seasons ago has nothing to do with it.

I disagree they were level, for one in particular he was in front of the defence in addition to the foul on Scott Parker which again went unpunished and lead to a Man Utd goal.

All three were level, shown by replays. Being a few cm in front which you can only tell with a freeze frame is the same thing as being level because linesmen don't have replays to go on. Unless you can be certain the attacker is ahead in real time from the touchline then it is level. The Scott Parker thing didn't look like a foul to me but a few of the kicks he dished out to United players did.

With all due respect Joe you made reference to the Nani incident from a previous season first so it's a bit rich to shout me down for doing the same with Rooney....

It was you that came on here waving critique on people for 'failing' to mention the Fulham incident which was a very odd attack on the posters here.

Regarding the Fulham player receiving the retrospective punishment and the Man Utd player didn't. The new retrospective rules are a new introduction and the Man Utd incidents were prior to the introduction of the new rule.

For a player to be punished retrospectively, the incident must be unseen by the officials. It then goes to a panel of 3 former referees who must unanimously agree it should be a red card offence. If the panel vote 2-1 then the player can not be retrospectively punished. If the panel vote 3-0 the player can be punished retrospectively.

Completely and utterly wrong.

I compared an incident that recently happened and went unnoticed with an almost identical but in reverse one from just a few months ago that people were quick to try and justify.

You brought up the same Rooney elbow of two and a half years ago, again, which nobody has ever attempted to justify, as some kind of bizarre attack.

You compared that incident to something else from previous and I compared the Riether incident to Rooney, I don't see why you felt the need to being down condemnation upon me for it.

You appear to be extremely sensitive to any comment regarding Manchester United players poor conduct. Jumping down all our throats because someone dared to mention yet another Ashley Young dive. I'm slightly confused by that.

I questioned why people weren't concerned that a high boot had actually made contact with someone's face, and without even a booking, when in a similar incident only a few months ago some people... IN THIS THREAD.. thought a high boot alone was enough for a sending off because it was dangerous.

While you seemed to be questioning why a Fulham player could be retrospectively punished for kicking and stamping on a downed opponent when three seasons ago and under a different set of rules Rooney elbowed someone and wasn't punished, even if nobody here (to my knowledge) ever justified what Rooney did or said he shouldn't be punished.

Moyes response to Ashley Youngs latest piece of theatrical diving was:
“All I know is he got a penalty kick from a decision; I don’t know about his reputation, but the referee is there and he gave it.

Seems a change of manager has not made any difference to Man U. Moyes would have being going ballistic had he been the other teams manager, he's gone down in my opinion.

I was at that game, it was like nothing else I have ever witnessed in my life. One of the most amazing things I have ever witnessed and at the same time pretty scary! Bonfires in the stands.

I watch quite a lot of Argentinian and South American football as part of my job and flares seem to be common place in the stands. Some of the stuff that the cameras pan in on would lead to heart attacks if ever health and safety over here saw it. Their fans are absolutely mental, shame the football is so boring.

FA Cup weekend and Oldham have got Wolves (again) but at home this time, I do think Latics can beat Wolves tomorrow but I feel it may be draw 2-2 maybe, I not expect big crowd at Boundary Park given is normal league price (£20 adult and £10 for Under 16 and over 65) but Wolves probably bring quite lot fans with them given they bring big follow to normal league matches.

For cup upset I think Bishop's Stortford, Cambridge, Grimsby, Hartlepool, Tamworth and Wycombe could be ones that upset this weekend.

Hopefully you're right about Hartlepool. Off to their game tomorrow as my girlfriend supports them.

Also going to be the first ever FA Cup tie I've been to.

I'm going to take a chance and add Skrill North team Hednesford to that list too to beat League One team Crawley.

This will not be a walk in the park for Crawley, they have a few problems themselves at the moment and Hednesford are playing out of their skin.

Got to leave in an hour to get to Reading, anything less than 3 points today against the fake hoops/Reading will be unacceptable.

Through no doubt Redknapp will play 4-5-1 and hope for a draw again.

BT Sport have won the rights for Champions League football from 2015.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24879138

BT Sport has announced an exclusive £897m three-year deal which will end two decades of live Champions League football on terrestrial TV.
The broadcaster has won the rights to show all 350 matches each season from 2015 after talks with European governing body Uefa.
A BT spokesman said it had "shaken up the UK TV market" and would make some games, including finals, free to air.

Yes. Praise the Lord for this wonderful blessing.

At least BT are going to show the final Live for free

Shame they couldn't have a tie up with BBC like the SKY/ITV old deal.

British Telecommunications may be on course to eclipse Sky as the No 1 provider (they have the resources :p)

Just in response to the very first post way back when I am a football supporter (Hence the user name) and a fan of the railways and also Death Metal which is a bit by the by. Sadly not got a ticket for todays game but I've done well this season so far, been to 6 including Man U at Anfield and also our away game at Old Trafford.

It is said that BT are using this deal as leverage to build upon their telecommunications and broadband business, so a link with the BBC will not really enhance that particular piece of marketing.

Perhaps BBC will now go all out to clinch a five-year deal to keep their flagship programme..Bargain Hunt..<(
