What happened with Aldershot many years ago was that their record was removed from the league (1992/93?), which helped Blackpool as they had only played them once and drawn where most other teams at the top had played them twice and won.

The 3-0 walkover result is generally used when one fixture has not been fulfilled rather than a whole season's fixtures.

The railway line runs directly behind the ground, while at the front there are a number of food outlets. The M181 is pretty close as well. From what I can gather, 1 of the proposed plans is to buy land the other side of the motorway, and build everything there, and then sell Glanford Park and all the associated land so various retail outlets can be built (Marks ans Spencers are rumoured to be interested in building there).

I don't think Scunthorpe are anywhere near as bad as what Luton where, as Steve Wharton (before he retired) ran a tight ship, plus a number of players sold that fetched over £1m each (Garry Hooper, Billy Sharp and Martin Paterson made a profit for the club of about £5m).

Overall, the club is in reasonable financial shape.

Oldham beat Preston 2-0 in JPT 2nd Round ties last night mean that they are now in QF stage in that cup, with Preston, Sheff Utd and Wolves all got knock off last night it mean Northern section of that draw is wise open and it give Latics are very good chance of getting to final at Wembley.

It could be argued the other way, that a good time to make planned change is when the team is playing smoothly and does not need as strong a touch. Though the world of soccer is topsy-turvey anyway. The so-called quality players are not performing - so sack the manager. Essentially, while players are massively incentivised to play well, they are not disincentivised from playing badly, as they cannot be sacked. Indeed, if they do play so badly that the club sells them on they get a hefty slice of the transfer fee - even if that is depressed by them playing badly.
But, to go back to Cardiff, is there any rationale behind the goings on? Had the suspended chappie done something hideously wrong? Is the 23 year old experienced in anything? It seems a bizarre way to get rid of the manager, if that is the ultimate aim. Or are we looking at another Brirmingham, where at least some of the policy was being dictated by Oriental hoods?

We've been trying to find this out at work, all we can find about the 23 year old he did some painting and decorating at a football club for work experience. Probably experience of championship manager on the PC as well, although I once won the Champions League with Plymouth on that so in that theory I should get a decent management position.

Its a bad precedent that a manager who is doing ok is sacked.

The opposite scenario appears to have occurred at Sheffield United, languishing in 22nd position in League One, who have sacked both the manager, David Weir, and his assistant manager, Lee Carsley, after only 13 games in post.

I suppose the embarrassment to the board and to the clubs' supporters of Tuesday nights' defeat in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy by League Two strugglers Hartlepool was the final straw.

11th lost in row for Hyde that (lose 4-1 to Luton) 13th points behide Dartford who 20th in table and starting to look like Hyde will be playing against Stalybridge, Stockport and maybe Altrincham in Skrill Conference North division next season.

Not good day for Stockport who went out of FA Cup after they lose 1-0 to Rushall Olympic, I also notice that both Ashton clubs (Curzon Ashton and Ashton United) with Trafford are also out of FA Cup too.

Oldham wasn't in action today as their game with Notts County was postponed but I notice that Latics have got Notts County in JPT Northern QF stage, hopefully Latics can beat Notts County on 12th Nov and it be one step closes to final at Wembley.

I have one hundred percent confidence in Alty's ability to fail to earn promotion. We've got to much dead weight in our too-small squad. Players like Carl Rodgers, Brian Smikle and Danny Boshell, who Sinnott insists are good enough to be first team material, who, when on the pitch, are nothing but liabilities. We've also got one striker, Kyle Perry, who scores when he likes, which, unfortunately, is not very often, and a defender, Luca Havern (who played for Hyde when they got promoted a couple of seasons back), who seems to think he's a striker, judging by the amount of time he spends in the attacking third. If we want any chance of promotion, we need some good new players, and fast.

Our next game is Brackley Town, and if recent performances are anything to go off, I have little doubt about what sort of result to expect, and it isn't a good one. After a very even match yesterday against 1874 Northwich, who are 5 tiers below us, total decimation by Trafford, one division below us a fortnight ago, where only a heroic performance from Stuart Coburn, and some simulation from James Walshaw, kept the score looking fairly even, and a week before that we got the stuffing knocked out of us by Ferriby, where Walshaw was again the only thing that kept the match looking even.

We usually do fine against teams in the same that are weaker than us (4-1 against Guiseley a week ago, where the aforementioned James Walshaw scored a hat trick against his former team), but again, there are some matches where we just haven't shown up (in the figurative sense of the phrase) and been punished for it (2-2 against Oxford a month ago)

Incidentally, the FA Cup 3rd qualifying round saw yet another disgraceful scenario of supporter trouble and fighting, as in the match between Atherstone and Barrow which Barrow were leading 4-0 at half-time, the Atherstone supporters section suddenly saw a number of the home fans running onto the pitch in an attempt to fight the Barrow fans opposite. Both sides in the second half were affected by this and there was no further scoring in the game. I just hope the FA makes an example of the Atherstone club as a result of stupidity of some of their fans. You just cannot allow matters like this to remain unpunished and an example that the FA will act very quickly indeed as a message to other clubs as a salutary warning.
