On another story Real Madrid have bid 95m for Bale,

I have heard it said that Tottenham Hotspur are still owed monies from the Modric transfer by that club, so it does not bode at all well for the payment for ANY amount of fee to them on any subsequent transfer.

Thats correct, they havent paid off Modric yet, so I cant see Spurs willing to do business.

With Oldham start they football season on Saturday here is my prediction for League One division.

I think Preston and Sheff Utd will go up, I also think Wolves, Bristol City, Brentford and MK Dons will be in play offs.

I think Gillingham, Bradford, Carlisle and Crewe will go down but I hope Crewe doesn't go down and maybe Leyton Orient will go down instead of Crewe.

My team Oldham will have better season and I think they will finish 12th in table.

Manchester City seemed to have both good and bad spells in their match against A C Milan which they eventually finished by winning 5-3 and today, they will face a much sterner test against Bayern Munich in the final of the Audi Cup.

Noting the Modric transfer fee payment currently ensuing, how will the terms of payment for any Bale transfer be set in a time schedule ? I note your point about the transfer fee monies going straight towards the cost of a new ground, but if stage-payments should be applied by Real Madrid, then Tottenham Hotspur will not have the option to show any construction organization that all the required finance emanating from this transfer will already be in their club bank account.

If they are the richest club in the world, you have to ask yourself what assets are taken into account to make the final figure that leads to this total. I am sure that it is not just based on the cash in their club accounts, otherwise one has to query the tardiness of their payment of the Modric transfer fee.

If Real Madrid do not have a vast monetary bank reserve, the condition that you stipulate for "all monies paid up front" could be a matter that will see this transfer scenario suddenly coming to an abrupt end and Real Madrid casting their net elsewhere.

Doncaster Rovers have signed One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson as a non-contract player.
Doncaster-born Tomlinson has been given a squad number and is likely to appear for the team's development side at some point this season.

Paying in Pesetas would be a masterstroke, if I remember correctly £1 was worth about 200 in pesetas, so 95 mill=about half a million quid...

They should go one better qnd pay the 95000000 in old Turkish Lira, the equivalent of about 32 quid

hahahah sorry truth be told I had a last minute move around. Bournemouth are 12th according to me, every team above may move up one.

^^ Yes it is, I don't think Oldham will sign him as reason why he training with us is because of problem with contract at Swindon, if Latics do sign him then Oldham could have very good season as I can see him, Baxter and MacDonald score around 10 to 15 goals for Oldham and that could take Latics into top 6 finish by end of 2013/14 season.

Well today Latics have sign Adam Rooney on free transfer from Birmingham city on a two year contract like I said it bit in bold about Rooney, Baxter and Macdonald, if them three score around 15 maybe 20 goals for Latics this season then who doesn't say that Oldham wouldn't finish in top 6 and do Yeovil and get promotion to Championship via Play offs or even Bournemouth and finish in top 2 come may.

This information comes from various sources online, All sources used quote they are for 2011/12 tax year. Real Madrids accounts are pubically available.

Real Madrid have 590m Euros of debt.They have 841m Euros of assets. Therefore they have a net assets of 251m euros. These asset figures do not include the value of players, their estimated player value for 2011/12 season was 539m Euros. Their annual revenue is 480m Euros

Real Madrid may well have a better ability than the others, as you so rightly state, but their current situation of still not completing their transfer monies still outstanding to Tottenham Hotspur in the Modric transfer does not bode well for any further player transfer activity between these two sides.

You are certainly more positive about us than me. I would be quite happy with safety, but really happy to be in the top half. That would equal our best position in the league ever.

Last year I felt that the Championship was slightly weaker than usual and League 1 was slightly stronger. Not keen to write off the promoted teams off straight away and from what I saw of league 1 last year you were by far the best team in the league. That said would be surprised if Donny and Yeovil finished top half. The team who I really think are doomed this year are Blackpool.

And no legal repercussions for trading while insolvent :roll: I wonder, if there was an audit of clubs from the Premiership to the Conference, how many are actually legally solvent. I suspect that most are simply kept going by the ludicrous pretence that employees are book assets. And yet again we seem to have the cheek of a football club trying to fleece the public, in this case ratepayers.
Nothing against this club, but let them go bust. If there is demand, reform at the bottom and work their way up, keeping sound business principles, until they find a level where income can still support expenditure, then stay there. Like any other business.

No. The problem is the asset stripping hedge fund bunch of ****s Sisu who only bought the club because they hoped doing so would give them a chance of buying the arena. The arena is owned by ACL of which the council are part owners and who have been bending over backwards to resolve the situation. The problem is that Sisu, knowing that they'll now never get their hands on the arena, would rather put the club out of business just for spite.

It is virtually impossible to assess the "going rate" for renting a football stadium. But the council have a legal duty to get a fair return. They will have balanced the costs and benefits of having a football club as tenants, as well as their costs as owners, and decided on whatever rate is appropriate. CCFC have also done that and decided they cannot afford those charges. So it is (probably) not so much the "high charges", as the cost of playing in a stadium of that size with those facilities in that location. (Subtle difference). Do they really need such a stadium? They seem to be unwilling to cut their cloth.
