Just checked Southend, and it's Plymouth at home first. Just had to be after Don Ron Martin did away with Sturrock for no valid reason :roll:

Elsewhere, from my current location there are four away games I may be able to attend, subject to dates. The easiest one is Bristol Rovers, which will be in late March for the third time in four seasons (:roll, while Newport are on Deregulation Day (as I call it), October 26th - which I currently have a 0% chance of attending as the end of October is traditionally a big no-no for me. The other two matches, which are more marginal, are at Oxford and Cheltenham - exactly six months apart.

As for the one everyone in League Two wants, 2008 FA Cup winners Portsmouth host Southend a month after Newport, which might just be manageable - but then go to Roots Hall on New Year's Day! I am so going to that...

Oldham Athletic have not been given an easy start to the 2013/4 League 1 campaign....away to Stevenage..

^^ In League One I wouldn't case any games easy but it not bad start for Oldham as it could be lot worse as we could got Sheff Utd and Wolves for our first game of season, happy that Bradford, Crewe and Tranmere away games are on Saturday mean I can go to them unless Northern rail pee me off and have engineering work on these weekend

^^ Latics played Wolves home and away on Tuesday night and to make it worse for Latics fans, they got away trip to Leyton Orient on Tuesday 25th March I wonder how many Latics will travel to London on this day.

Even more people have probably no clear idea the real size of something when it goes beyond a threshold. £100k is a figure many people can relate to by linking it to, say, the value of a house in certain areas. However if you say £5 mil to someone, it is quite likely that it will be seen as a ginormous figure and nothing else. Many people will not have a clue how much a million actually is.

I wonder how many people will think that £5 mil a year is more than £100k a week, not just more, but way more.

Exactly the kind of strategy that charities who go on about malnutrition use - they will say "one every few seconds" instead of "three million a year" because the theory is that the average human is not intelligent enough to prefer the use of the larger value as much of us on here would. Which is actually rather relevant because there was an article on the BBC site about that today.

Oh, god. My theory is that Bournemouth Council has planted a permanent hack in the fixtures computer.

Just to remind everyone that although these fixtures are published, there will be significant 'jiggling' with them for TV schedules etc so although the first day of the Premiership, for example, is officially August 17 the first game for some teams may be 18 or 19. Just be careful if anyone is looking to travel on advance tickets to any game. Also there may be lunch time or evening kick-offs too instead of the traditional 3pm start.

The revised fixtures will be available in a few weeks I believe.

Slightly disappointed with the Tuesday night fixtures for Wolves - the nature of my job means that getting Saturdays off are virtually impossible and the only chance I really get to go are Tuesdays. Whatever happens though I shall be going to Wolves vs Walsall so looking forward to that one.
