When you are Bournemouth, 90km certainly is "local". We even consider the likes of Swindle and Reading "local". 100 miles is where we normally draw the line.

Cureton is a cracking player at L2 level. I personally hope he gets a move to L1 - if only to stop him scoring the winner against Rochdale...

As for who'll do well in L2 next year, Brizzle R were the form team for the second half of the season, while Chelts and Chesterfield will be strong again. Dale could be up there if their youngsters develope quickly, whilst I fancy Newport to have a good season.

Relegation - AFC Wimbledon look weak, Dagenham will miss John Still's wise managament while Accy Stanley have a novice manager who may lack nouse.

Bournemouth is not exactly the historical hotbed of professional association football that was the case in Lancashire at the end of the Victorian era. You would be amazed at the towns who have been members of the Football League from that region. Local derbies were never difficult to find in those days of yore.

I have so much sympathy for the Toon Army right now.

Championship - Burnley v Bolton, Derby v Blackburn
League 1 - Preston NE v Wolves, Sheffield Utd v Notts County
League 2 - Newport v Accrington, Rochdale v Hartlepool

Sheffield Utd v Notts County should be interesting, two of the oldest teams in the world on the oldest constantly-used football ground in the world. Ditto Rochdale v Hartlepool, the most-played football league fixture.

Aberdeen's low home crowd is odd as they have the second largest away support in the SPL. I suppose it's the number of Aberdonians in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Also away tickets are usually sold to season ticket holders first, then only if there are any left do they go on general sale. The old firm ones are usually sold out before any general sale.

Hearts already had debts of £20m, under Chris Robinson before Romanov took over. Hearts have been badly run for many, many years. It's not all Vlads fault.

Indeed, but the much threatened "Armageddon" mooted by the Scottish sports 'media' and SevCo was totally absent; and in fact some teams' average attendances grew this season.

The BBC are blissfully ignorant of Moyes vs Everton in the summary. Instead, the only matches that matter are Liverpool and City (and Swansea given they're up first - weren't they Fergie's last at home as well?).

And now I know that my chance to watch Cardiff vs Everton has probably slipped away - August 31st is probably too early in the season for me financially :cry:
