Well done to Arsenal who be playing Uefa Champion League football next season but u have to say unlucky to Tottenham as they probably dessert to be in Champion League, will Bale be Tottenham player come September or will he be Real Madrid, PSG or even Man Utd player by then.

Hope not, last thing MOTD2 needs is someone who knows even less about football than Murray!

He'd never, ever have been in contention to take over at Old Trafford, so I'm not really sure on the point of comparison but generally Benitez, is the better manager (and he excels in Europe).

Yeah. Fortunately he actually knows something about football and also shuts up on occasion, neither of which Murray possesses as qualities.

Another decent presenter the BBC has on football is Dan Walker, but I think he's a really dedicated Christian to the point where he doesn't work Sundays, so he was out of the running. Shame, he's a great host on Football Focus.

Option one is both highlights at the same time (having watched the Arsenal game I would say that could be tricky), option two is showing the Tottenham game first. I reckon option two is better. I didn't see much of the Tottenham game (which is probably a good thing), but I imagine it was dull until the red card....

I hope not as I find this annoying. All they need to do is show the Chelsea Match First to establish it's a scrap between Arsenal and Spurs. Then show the Spurs Match and finally the Arsenal one. This rotation would enable someone to view who hasn't seen the results.

That's what I meant to by intercutting Just a shame it couldn't have involved more interesting matches.

Speaking of West Brom, I remember back in 2006 (?) when MOTD attempted a 4-way intercut the day WBA completed the Great Escape under Robson, that was good viewing! On another note, Ian Hill's (of Priest fame) thoughts that West Brom's trouble has always been conceding as they do fine for scoring was quite accurate today!

Always prefered Barry Davies, a real commentator and added to the match, rather than rambling on as 'Motty' does. Always enjoyed listening to David Begg on Radio Scotland, it's a very different art commentating on radio to the telly though.

Quite appropriate that John Motson was commentating he was there at the start and the end of Fergusons reign at United.

He mentioned a match from 1972/3 at Stamford Bridge where Bobby Charlton was given a Silver Cigarette Case on his final appearance.

"Square one" would have been a quarter of one side of a football pitch which would have a corner position and half of a goal area.

"Back to square one" usually means to restart a task where the previous work had not been succesful....or an unsuccessful result of playing "Snakes and Ladders".

Former Oldham Athletic Manager Paul Dickov was named new Doncaster manager yesterday.

Doncaster Rovers appoint former Oldham boss

Doncaster Rovers have appointed Paul Dickov as their new manager.

The 40-year-old succeeds Brian Flynn who moved into a director of football position after helping the team win promotion back to the Championship.

Dickov has been out of work since leaving Oldham at the start of February with the Latics one point above the League One relegation zone.

The former Scotland international was appointed at Boundary Park in June 2010, his first managerial post.

I think that the admission costs for the young age group are far higher these days as a percentage a "normal" weekly wage than they were when I first began attending both football and rugby matches in the late 1950's.

A most enthralling cup final at Wembley. There was more total commitment shown by both teams in this match by two German sides in comparison to that shown by both the two English sides in the FA Cup Final on the same pitch very recently.
