Glad Chelsea won, but not for the fans though. They have been terrible since Benitez was appointed. With all the crap about Di Matteo and Mourinho I think Benitez did well to guide Chelsea to 3rd place let alone a European Cup win as well

Makes you wonder in relation to experience how David Moyes is considered a more suitable choice for Manchester United as their new Manager.

Hard to believe but Oldham Athletic were amongst the clubs who were founder members of the Premiership. At least they are still in League 1, having gone no further down.

^^ Maybe in Five years time Oldham will be premiership team again :D

Are they the lowest placed of the founder members of the Premiership ?

^^ Bradford, Portsmouth and Swindon are probably lowest place teams that used to play in Premiership, unsure if u can add Wimbledon to that list as they when out of business, Oldham have only fell two division since they was a Premiership team but only trouble is that the been stuck in same division for 17th years now :(

Brighton have suspended manager Gus Poyet and told him to stay away from the club.

Gus Poyet suspended by Championship side Brighton

Brighton and Hove Albion have suspended manager Gus Poyet and told him to stay away from the club pending an inquiry.

The Championship club also suspended assistant manager Mauricio Taricco and first-team coach Charlie Oatway.

The inquiry will investigate whether Poyet breached his contract with comments in the wake of this week's play-off defeat by Crystal Palace.

Poyet, 45, told BBC Sussex on Monday: "I will analyse where we can go and myself as well."

He added: "I have got to think about myself as well sometimes.

"Every summer you sit down and analyse where you can go, where you can get or not and depending on that you have got a project or a way of getting better."

I see that the Football Association have finally decided to give notice to all players from the new season onwards by warning that any player found guilty of racially abusing an opponent will be banned for at least five matches.

Still think it's largely useless on being too hard to prove.

At least there is now something officially stated which both the clubs and their players should be aware of. It should be seen as another help to the "Kick racism out of football" campaign.

Perhaps the matter should be clearly explained those players of foreign extraction who do not show the same racial tolerance in their home countries.

feel free to browse!

Did you go into Alloa Town Centre and see it's magnificent "one way" Railway and little cube of a station by Asda ?

Nice guy Paul Hartley met him at Hearts celebration of winning the Scottish Cup against Gretna - held at Tynecastle the day after.

Used to attend Alloa College at the new campus opposite Asda.

I'd like to offer gracious congratulations to Bradford City, becoming the second West Yorkshire team to gain promotion this season (AFC Halifax Town being the other). BCFC will be dark horses for promotion next year too, if they can keep their top players and add wisely.

They ruined my 2p accumulator though, by not needing extra-time or penalties!

Congratulations to City on getting promoted :). As a neutral though I'd rather it wasn't all over at half time

I agree makes up for The League Cup Final defeat by Swansea.

Isn't it boring with no Premiership action today, especially after last weeks excitement

Indeed, goodness knows how I'll manage over the close season! I for one am glad there is nothing of consequence riding on tomorrow's game for the Villans

Is AFC Halifax Town a new team or something?

Pickyness aside, I'm sorry to see FC Halifax Town get promoted - they were pretty good at getting walked all over by my lot. :( . At least the Shay isn't a ground that I need to visit.

First goal of today's premier league goes to Darren Bent. Pity one of our "fans" had to ruin it :(

What am I going to do in the close season? :o

What a shocker, Villa don't keep a clean sheet

Aggro at the Hawthorns as well - Man Utd supporters in the WBA end - rumoured to have been offering £1000 to Albion supporters to get in. Unfortunately they couldn't contain themselves when United went 2-0 up thus exposing them to the wrath of Baggies supporters. :p

Yeah, there was a story earlier about Albion stopping the sale of tickets for Manchester United fans in the home end (not sure how they managed it).

In the women's game Villa ladies drew 1-1 with Manchester City ladies (shamefully I only knew this because of the vidiprinter)

How are 5Live portraying whichever game they're at? I imagine they're all but pretending Albion don't exist if they're at the Hawthorns

I'm watching Gabby and "the lads" on Final Score rather than listening to a commentary - with all due respect are you really interested in Villa Ladies (the football team) <D

Dundee United 0-4 Celtic, with Motherwell losing, the gap at the end of the season is 16 points, seems rather ironic though we get to play an EXTRA qualifier to progress to the Champions League, despite making the Last 16 of the Competition this season, while 3rd place in the EPL gives you automatic qualification to the Group stages...Good Ol' UEFA...NOT

I think you'll find it's related to the previous performance of a Nations Clubs in the CL over the years. ;)

Well done to Yeovil who are playing Championship football next season and be playing FA Cup winner Wigan too as Yeovil beat Brentford 2-1.

5-5 in Man Utd game :o what a well to sign off Alex Ferguson last ever match.

Well done to Arsenal who be playing Uefa Champion League football next season but u have to say unlucky to Tottenham as they probably dessert to be in Champion League, will Bale be Tottenham player come September or will he be Real Madrid, PSG or even Man Utd player by then.
