God no. An average manager who is probably best at home in the Championship, ditto McCarthy. He has nowhere near the reputation, stability or financial nous that Moyes does.

if I was a hull city fan I'd be seriously annoyed about his conduct today.

Alex Ferguson the manager deserves the respect from everyone. He has not just brought through 1 team but 4 or 5 teams and they have all laid their mark. this current team is not the team 99 or 08 but its beaten what was put in front of it easily.

Unlike the likes of Brian Clough, Fergie has not had an embarrassing decline but has bowed out at the top. That in itself deserves an immense amount of credit.

Manchester City are poised to sack manager Roberto Mancini and replace him with Malaga's Manuel Pellegrini.

Mancini took over from Mark Hughes in December 2009, leading City to the FA Cup in 2011 and the Premier League title a year later.

But the 48-year-old Italian saw his side lose this year's FA Cup final to Wigan at Wembley on Saturday.

After the game, he criticised the club for not quashing reports that a deal with Pellegrini, 59, was already done.

Nice to see Everton and Man Utd both winning today to give both manager winning send out, also nice to see Man Utd players letting Alex Ferguson lift Premiership trophy before any of Man Utd players do it.

I see Wigan will be relegated on Tuesday if they lose to Arsenal but if Wigan do beat Arsenal then probably is Wigan, Sunderland and Aston Villa fighting for that last relegated places next Sunday.

I would say he bowed out just over the crest, at the top of the downward slope mainly based on a seeming decline in Europe. Maybe left it a season too late but otherwise he picked a good time to go.

No. What is your obsession with O'Neill?

Personally I don't like his tactics. His early years at Celtic were great, goals galore, attacking all the time. Having Lennon and Lambert sitting in midfield allowed wide men Petta/Thompson and Agathe and Petrov or Moravcik from the centre to get forward to join the attack. In his later years those wide men were more resticted and effectively played as a back 5. O'Neill was found out a few times in Scotland and his record in England has been pretty poor.

Should also add that he has recently been linked with Leicester. Hardly a top half Premier League job.

Honestly I would say Lambert. I'm not going to lie, O'Neill was good when he was here but he spent recklessly and didn't use subs. In retrospect it felt like he was going to try and emulate Leeds - Champions League or bust and we know how that story ended

Just stumbled across Chelsea v Norwich in the FA youth cup final on ITV4 (kicked off at 1945). Oddly for a final it appears to be over two legs with the Canaries carrying a 1-0 lead.

I watched the first leg, Chelsea were significantly the better team, and Norwich parked the bus. Norwich goal was a Fergie time penalty
