Another bad day for Blackpool.

Hyde are still acclimatising to the Conference Premiership and must learn to stiffen defensively, letting a 2-0 lead vanish by conceding two goals in a minute mid-way through the second half and the match to end 2-2.

What I said in this posting last weekend rings true again today as Hyde were 1-0 up away at Dartford....only to concede goals in the 85th and 90th minute.

Unfortunately, they are now at the bottom of the league. Yet both the these two matches could well have earned Hyde four points. They have scored 13 goals and conceded 19 goals so far this season.

The BBC football site is farcical! "Live" Scores haven't been live since half-time!

Norwich 0 v 2 Liverpool.
Actual score: 1-5

And for a good period after the matches finished the BBC site and the Sky site had messed up the championship table. Some / all of the teams (except Brighton) were shown as having played 9 games (rather than 8) and having 3 extra points. So Cardiff were shown as top when we are actually 2nd. Was a bit confusing!

Another bad day for Blackpool.

The only trouble with having one game on a Sunday is that MotD2 then drags a lot, they analyse every little detail beyond human interest. Having missed MotD last night and this morning however, it should be fun to see yesterday's games too.

MOTD2 would have been OK to watch if Adrian Chiles was still hosting it if only because he makes it obvious he's an Albion (not Albion in Scotland) fan and because of 2 good, 2 bad.

You couldn't hold out for a win because you don't know how to defend corners
(admittedly that's still better than our defence)
First half we were the better team, or at least for most of it, pity the half time whistle went really but no doubt you guys were better in the second half.

A point is useful (though why couldn't it be 0-0 if it had to be a draw, would have got me 16 extra fantasy points :cry although based on our first half performance we could have won and at the end we looked strong.

Certainly wasn't a bad game although how much of that was due to me listening on BBC WM instead of Five Live is impossible to gauge. Bragging rights chez moi must remain undistributed until the return leg at the Hawthorns

I'm still struggling to comprehend last nights Match of The Day, they looked at all of the penalty "incidents" of every game, barring one - the City game, and simply said "the refs had a bad week so we will leave it at that". What a farce, he made some howlers yesterday and should bugger off to county level for a bit to work out the differences of inside & outside the box...

Aside from that it was rather entertaining, I thoroughly enjoyed the Spurs vs United game (I didn't go and make a brew this time) and love how Sir Baconface is once again moaning about stoppage time, does he realise how stupid he sounds?

To show a spot of unbiased-ness I think United were a bit hard done by with that penalty call, though their players do make a habit of hitting the deck quite often. Although it is worth pointing out for consistency we had three of those in the City game and were not given one either.

Much to the contrary, I think he's been much less of a player since the Reading incident, he's had a few excellent games a season but has never regained the form he used to show. When he does go I don't think there'll be a massive, gaping hole like there sort of has been since van der Sar left Man United or similar, I think there are plenty of better all-round keepers out there. Even in the PL I would rate Hart and Friedel as better goalkeepers. I think he's a lot like Valdes at Barca: because of how good the team around him are it doesn't often get picked up on when he underperforms.

Does he not realise that Tottenham Hotspur could have also made the score 4-2 in that extra period of time that he wished was given....not just his hope that Manchester United could have equalised ?

Yes but this is the same arrogant s.o.b that in the final games of last season insisted that QPR do them a favor and beat City (implying that United would beat Sunderland), he also said it in the game prior to that in the hope that Newcastle would beat City. IIRC Martin O'Niell loved the suggestion that Sunderland were going to roll over for United.

Fair point, yesterday was the first time I've sat through most of MotD and the first time I've really seen him or any other team in action really (aside from City) so was basing my opinion on what I saw in that game and he seemed to do exceptionally well. I agree though that he is not as good as he used to be but neither was Van der Sar at the end. Personally though I believe that Hart is the best keeper in England and possibly further afield too although this season has been a bit iffy, don't forget he had back surgery and missed the Charity Shield.

Dodgy at best? Crikey it was woeful, yes it was a foul bit it was well outside the box. It was shocking. We had a good few solid penalty appeals turned down too just to rub salt in the wounds.

At the end of the day we won, so I am happy. But that could have cost us, like last year when despite pounding Sunderland relentlessly they score on the break with the last kick of the ball and win 1-0 despite the striker was at least 3 foot offside. Their managers response was "well that makes it even for our bad call last week" - what evened it out for us? (the game before Kompany got red carded against the filth & a couple of games after it Liverpool got that awful penalty for "hand ball"). Three bad calls in three games, two dumped City out of both the FA & League cup, the other could have very well cost them the league. When the stakes are that high they need to make the right decision and more so be accountable when they make the wrong one.

Probably not. He is not that bright. He is a one-eyed bully that quite suits Corporal Jones' catch phrase. And, judging by the turnover of "stars" under him, not that good a manager either. If he had landed up at a club (say, Aston Villa) that does not use its history to bully other clubs, how long would he have lasted?
