While every man and his dog are salivating over Barcelona I notice FC Bayern quietly and calmly do the business in Marseille

Marseille arent really at the same standard as either AC Milan or Barcelona! They have been poor this year in the french league!

Living in the Leeds area, I am surrounded by fans who repeat the trip about "Champions of Europe", and that Leeds are "by rights" a big team. When you say that "everyone talks about us" it might be in the same way that "everyone" talks about Lindsay Lohan, lots of potential but an embarrassment to have around. If the club could concentrate on the present and forget the perceived injustices of a generation ago, uncommitted people might give it a little more respect.

Why go to such extreme lengths to justify your words. That's what us Leeds fans love it all. We love it how everything annoys other fans such as WACCOE but when questioned they pretend not to care......hmmmm

Huddersfield Town and teams like that are the best, they'll say "Leeds United aren't a big club" Then spend the next hour telling us why they don't like us....

I just say, Huddersfield Town aren't a big club. Then we move on....

Who have won more league titles: Leeds United or Huddersfield Town?

The answer: Neither of them. 3-3.

OK, so Hudd haven't won it for 86 years, but still...

Hudd are a fairly big club. Leeds are a big club (not that I like to admit as much though!).

You do realise why Leeds sing that don't you?

Please tell me you do realise why Leeds sing that? Another blind Leeds hater, join the rest of gang.

Point me in the direction of where I said I hate Leeds would you. When you have finished that I can show you the huge chip on your shoulder.
Yes I am well aware of why you sing it. Still makes no odds. You still lost.
I dont hate Leeds at all. I was just pointing out that Leeds are not one one Europe's great clubs. Sorry if that makes me a Leeds hater in your eyes. In my eyes it just means I am being realistic

Punts (fourth down in their own half)
Field Goals (fourth down in their opponents half)
Touchdown conversion (after a Touchdown)

So maybe upto 15 times in a 1 hour game (playing time)

You forgot kick offs after each score

Europa League ..quarter final (first leg)

Schalke 04...2......Atletico Bilbao..4

Despite Raul adding two more European goals to add to his amazing total in European club competitions for Schalke 04, Atletico Bilbao once again decided to play the same attacking game in the away leg, as they did in the last round at Manchester United and were rewarded with four away goals, with Llorente adding two more goals to add to his total in Europe this season.

Aston Villa's Stilyan Petrov has been diagnosed with acute leukaemia. Another reason to thank our lucky stars and remember that this news, as Muamba's did, puts football into perspective.
Get well soon

Definitely. Hope he gets well soon and I'm glad the club have emphasised that they will be respecting his privacy

I too wish Mr Petrov all the best.

On a different note, with them potentially facing Barca or Milan on the Wednesday, the FA has scheduled Chelsea's FA Cup Semi-Final with Spurs to be played at 1800 on a Sunday. What a bunch of twits the FA are. The Merseyside Derby is scheduled for Saturday because of WCML engineering works and Sunday being the Hillsborough anniversary, but that can't excuse an 1800 kick-off.

Or better, play them at suitable non-Wembley locations on the same day! Old Trafford and the Emirates?

I dont see what the anniversary of hillsborough has to do with a Spurs Chelsea game.

The only problem is the very late kick off. Boozed up d!cks will be rampant round Wembley for hours before and after

No i think that is one of two reasons the merseyside semi final is on saturday rather than sunday, the other being WCML engineering works.
So therefore by default chelsea tottenham has to be sunday, but why 18:00... surely it should be like 12:30....
And why is the merseyside one 12:30... that should be later to give liverpool and everton fans mroe time to get to london.

Will the "dreaded" matter of television scheduling have anything to do with these timings ?

The engineering works mean that only the early trains are running from Liverpool, so starting it later wouldn't let any extra people ex-the North West attend unless they travelled via other means, if you see what I mean :)

It's to do with the broadcasting regulation. No live football is allowed to be shown between 14:45 and 17:00 on a Saturday. The reason is to encourage people to go and watch matches at their local ground.

Oh wow, thank for that i never knew! very interesting and probably sensible too.

On another note i finally went to see the mighty owls today and stunninf they were against a cheating, diving, pathetic preston side. I used to have a season ticket for 4 years and i have never seen anything more pathetic in my life. Time wasting from 1st minute. Diving and conning referee for everything and can not string any passess together. THey were better under phil brown.

Worst possible result for Wolves. We're now 6 points at the bottom of the table.

After nine months of nothing I finally ran into my Wolves-loving friend yesterday. I thought it best not to mention how badly things are going for them...

Bit of a surprise to see Arsenal lose.

Aston Villa need to start looking over their backs with these results, or they are going to be dragged right in,
Oh and villa have 1 less point than McLeish's previous team at this stage last season!

I think you will find I have been saying this since Christmas !!
Tough games till the end of the season too. In fact I would be surprised if we won another game all season. Our survival depends on how many points the teams beneath us make up.

But don't forget mcleish is a great manager coz he won the League in Scotland with Rangers #doesnt count

Suppose you will have trips to Brighton and Leeds to look forward to next year, and depending on play offs maybe your greatest rivals again!
I fear for Villa, as 4 of the 5 below you have some of the best form in the league! Wolves being the worst form in league!

just have to ask McLeish what he is watching after this press conference today http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17572156

Roberto Di Matteo has Chelsea playing good football, something they have lacked this season, There is no pressure on them which i think has helped now.

Indeed, Fleetwood only need ten points now to win it, even if Wrexham win all their remaining games. As someone more of a Southport persuasion, this displeases me :D

If nothing else, they are at least doing the "buying the title" method the decent way. not a hint of Crawley in sight. I will be welcoming Fleetwood into the League come August.

Are you sure it's not based on how many "pints" they can take? ;)
