with the exception of the "blue knights", i just can't see how anybody is going to come in and save rangers, even at that paul murray seems to be reliant on a share issue and maybe overly optimistic at best and at worst grossly out of touch in hoping that the average rangers fan is going to cough up £1000 to own a bit of the club.

i can't see any other buyers taking on a potential £50m debt without being prepared to liquidate and starting a "newco", which also has numerous potential pitfalls.

i don't think it's going to happen but it's 10 to 5 now and all bids are to be in by 5 so we won't be long in finding out.

What an unholy shambles this is. Part of me hopes Rangers are allowed to go to the wall as an example to the rest of how to ruin a football club, but that would be awful for both Rangers fans and the SPL.

I'm English(Cornish actually), C of E (but not religious overly TBH), and supported Celtic first and foremost because I thought Green and White Hooped shirts were rather 'cool' and numbers at the time on their shorts only when I was much younger than I am now I have none of what you could call the 'usual' links with Celtic at all... Not all fans are what they seem indeed...
Will be interesting to see how things 'develop' down Ibrox way over the coming weeks

I tend to agree, a new club just isn't Rangers anymore. I've never been particularly worried about going under either though, our fanbase is too massive. It won't happen. Maybe.........:roll:

It's all dependent on hmrc, bad result there and It could very well be liquidation. But regardless of that I think it's going to be a tough few years ahead whatever the outcome.
I also think there are plenty of others dreading rangers losing "the big tax case" because hmrc will end up like a dog with a bone and not rest until every firm who operated ebt's pays up.

I was surprised by the result of the early kick-off with Dundee United beating Rangers 2-1 today. It is at times like this, under severe adversity, that teams can produce great team spirit to prove their cohesion and this is what I expected Ally McCoist to have installed into his players before they took to the field of play.

I have found this:

He received CPR and defibrillation on the pitch. The players and fans in the crowd look absolutely distraught.

A tannoy announcement has informed the crowd inside White Hart Lane that the match has been called off, and news has also filtered through the Muamba is being taken to hospital. We all await news on his condition.

Tottenham Hotspur's FA Cup quarter-final against Bolton Wanderers has been suspended following an apparently serious injury to Fabrice Muamba.

The Bolton Wanderers midfielder slumped to the turf in the 42nd minute, and medical staff spent several minutes attempting to resuscitate him.

Muamba was carried off the pitch to applause as doctors continued to attend to him, while players from both sides appeared greatly distressed.

Referee Howard Webb suspended the match pending further news on Muamba's condition.
