Weren't so many of them when they were almost rock bottom of Division Two, before Keegan took over...

Exactly. I can remember them bringing 300 to Villa park one season and going to Newcastle and playing in front of 15000.
Never understood the whole Toon Army hype myself

Lets hope Blackpool stay up! I'm not a supporter, but I'd like them to do well, and Reading to beat Swansea for promotion!

So, Birmingham and Blackpool go down. A shame for Blackpool, I really thought they were going to avoid the drop before the own goal! Reminds me of what Duff did to Newcastle to get us relegated in 2009

Shame Blackpool went down and Wigan stayed up. I would have loved the irony if Swansea had gone into the PL jsut as Wigan went down!

Well I'm happy that we have finished above The Mags!

We'll see what happens - though I suspect that even if Swansea do get promotion they will not last long in the Prem!

I think most Blackpool supporters would be happy they had one season with the big boys, though, even though the must be upset about relegation.

If Wigan can survive in the prem for 7 seasons then so can Swansea.

Wigan have done very well - I can remember when they first came into the football league!

I can't really fault Roberto Martinez for wanting to manage them in the Premiership either - I think they were the only club he would have left Swansea for!

*cough* ARSENAL *cough*

You managed the reverse against them, so don't complain!

We went unbeaten in the League against Chelsea, having won 1-0 today. Eat that, losers! :D

Utterly ridiculous. It's not a thouhg they've had a bad season, is it? They had a lousy early Winter due to injuries, and even then came to within a couple of games of the PL title. And they reached the CL QFs as well, which isn't exactly bad. They chop and change too much; is it any wonder they win less now? They shouldn't have done as well last season in my opinion, yet now they've failed to match it Carlo is gone.

The Ancelotti sacking is atrocious. A very classless outfit with a classless owner, joke of a club!

I'm glad Blues went down, they've been so negative and appalling under McLeish, now there's a blue club who should be sacking their manager. I'm glad I won't have to watch their awfulness on MOTD after today.

I'm looking forward to a good Beeb montage, I love a good montage and they're very good at them.

Even the match ball went back to West Bromwich ;)

Ancelotti's gone from Chelsea...

Not surprised, he failed to win anything which is the definition for success at Chelsea. At least they've took decisive (if wrong) action and given the whole off-season to prepare and doesn't the transfer window open tomorrow?

Us and Spurs did each other a favour today though, we beat Liverpool to secure their Europa League place and they beat blues to get them relegated.

As someone said on facebook "our [Villa's] season got a lot better after blues were relegated"

What a joke of a club Chelsea are.

Even when Manchester United come second they don't sack their manager. Coming second is surely a sign that things are going right? I could understand if they didn't make champions league but second? They can never hope to gain regular and sustainable levels of success by ditching the manager when a season doesn't quite match expectations.

This happens so much in football. The manager always gets it. If clubs didn't keep sacking the manager every time things don't quite work out they may actually get somewhere. Success not only requires the right manager but also stability within the team. They should never have sacked Mourinho. With him I felt they had the right manager.

Anyone would be mad to take the Chelsea job (unless your sole aim is to make a quick buck)!

It means a lot to me too. It means I don't have to put up with my housemate shouting her head off in anger for the next month...!
