Four wins on the run for us now, I'm really pleased to say the least. We're seven points clear of Norwich in seventh, and we're level pegging on points and goal difference with Leeds in fifth, but we have a game in hand over our local rivals and we still have to play them again as well. I think the next meeting between the two sides has a strong chance of being a "six pointer", that's for sure.

I'm sure you'll forgive me for hoping for a draw in that one! Really hope we can give Reading the stuffing we're due to give them on Tuesday, they've been almost as much of a bogey team as your lot!

I'd take a draw (but I'd prefer a win, lol) in the Leeds game, I'm hoping we can bag another win against Brentford though.

Winchester City stunned their high-flying opponents despite playing virtually the entire match with ten men after Robbie Matthews was dismissed after 50 seconds (a new record, apparently), for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity, but they weathered the early pressure and took the lead when Stuart Green met Howard Neighbour's cross to smash home. The visitors equalised just before half time in similar circumstances, but City came out stronger in the second half, with Evesham being reduced to ten men for an alleged stamp on the hour. With a little over ten minutes left, Craig Feeney was brought down in the area and Howard Neighbour converted to give City the lead. With 89 minutes gone, City won a free kick 25 yards out which Andy Jenkinson curled into the top corner, before Stuart Green got his second to put the icing on the cake.

A couple of results last night, Arsenal avoided the potential banana skin by beating Sutton United 2-0 on their plastic pitch, while Aston Villa failed to do Huddersfield Town a favour at Newcastle, by going down 2-0. Villa now potentially looking over their shoulders at the relegation zone, and given their inability to help us out, I won't shed a tear if they do drop to the 3rd tier I'm afraid. They may redeem themselves in my eyes if they can take points off Brighton though!

That great bastion of decency, The Scum, has to accept some of the blame for how that whole episode has blown up. If they ever try to stick their name on my team's shirts i may be forced to perform a dirty protest outside their headquarters.

I was worried about coming unstuck in this game, but we seem to have got into the habit of winning league games for now. We were also finally awarded a penalty in a league game, which Rajiv Van La Parra managed to dink gently into the welcoming hands of Ali Al-Habsi. The game then turned from one we'd dominated into a war of attrition between two sides who largely cancelled each other out. Thankfully our fitness levels became the difference as Reading tired, allowing Philip Billing to volley home the only goal during the last ten minutes. Just hope that Reading can bounce back and do us a favour by beating Brighton at the weekend!

A warning for Brighton and Newcastle, if you slip up we will pounce... though I did realise that even if we win all our remaining games and get 106 points, we could still finish in 3rd. If Newcastle also win up apart from when they play us, and Brighton win up apart from the Newcastle game, both will still be ahead of us. Has any team ever got over 100 points and still missed out on automatic promotion, I wonder?

I was too annoyed to even think about that result to be honest, but it could have been worse I suppose. We're still in the play off places which is the most important thing, and there's still a good points cushion. I just hope we can bounce back in our next game, a draw against Leeds would be okay, but a win would be better.

You've been one of the best things about this season so far, I'm made up for Huddersfield and hope they can continue this form (I bet Patrick Stewart is very pleased as well). It would be great if it was a Sheffield Wednesday v Huddersfield derby in the play-off finals, but I think you guys deserve to go up via the automatic play off places.

Manager Claudio Ranieri has been sacked by Leicester City, nine months after leading them to the Premier League title.

The Foxes are one point above the relegation zone with 13 matches left.

"The board reluctantly feels that a change of leadership, while admittedly painful, is necessary in the club's greatest interest," said a statement.

Ranieri, 65, guided the Foxes to the title despite them being rated 5,000-1 shots at the start of the campaign.

The Foxes won the league by 10 points but have won just five league games so far this season, and could become the first defending champions to be relegated since 1938.

They have lost their past five league matches and are the only side in the top four English divisions without a league goal in 2017.

"His status as the most successful Leicester City manager of all time is without question," added the Foxes statement.

"However, domestic results in the current campaign have placed the club's Premier League status under threat."

Earlier this month, Leicester gave their "unwavering support" to the Italian.

Pearson seems very unlikely to me given the cloud under which he left, but a respected journalist also tweeted tonight to say that the players want Pearson back.
