He's starting to realise that Martin O'Neill was the best Manager Villa have had in recent times and is finding it hard to come to terms with.
Those top six finishes seem a distant memory now

Villa have been so lucky in recent seasons not to be relegated that it's catching up on them now. Bar one or two, Carragher's after-match comments were spot on. Worst home defeat for 81 years, the players just don't care anymore. Just a shame Benteke didn't score a 7th - looking forward to the local derbies next season

Pity for Villa supporters that Lescott didn't have any Liverpool players in his pocket, not much room with that 'smart'phone already there I suppose .......

Although I think at the moment they wouldn't even get wound up enough for a Derby. Some of the goals on Sunday were laughable, c'mon even Kolo Toure scored

36000 at the start maybe, there certainly wasn't 36000 to witness the 5th goal and even less at the 6th.
He's reportedly after £/$?150m.
Shahid Khan bought and relegated Fulham for £200m as the last premier league club to change hands for comparison. That was 2-3 years ago- no premier league club has been bought since other than shares such as those at crystal palace. Not sure of the share holding % but the American who invested in part of Palace invested around £100m
£150m looks a good price on paper at least.
Hasn't Lerner been screwed over by an ex wife in divorce claims recently, if so maybe connected to his "club for sale" but not "trying" approach.

Im glad I was away for a few days and didn't see our game - even the snippet I caught of MOTD was horrid enough to watch... To many false dawns with us and why didn't we buy some defenders
I can see Sunderland and Newcastle getting out of trouble. Villa are down, Norwich are poor and Bournemouth are slipping. Swansea are also in the mire. Even West Brom and Palace could be dragged in.
Newcastle have them all to play. Get results there and you will be ok.
On current form Crystal Palace could well get dragged into a relegation scrap, their fans were talking about qualifying for Europe not long ago.
I think Norwich are going down with the Villa.
I hope we do and mackems and palace go with villa but realistically we do have a chamce against them it all depends who decides their a footballer from our side on the day

Winchester City continued their good run of form with a comfortable victory at Marlow. After half an hour some good skill saw Warren Bentley find the top corner from 25 yards, before bravely going into a 50-50 with the keeper to double City's lead and score his 100th goal for Winchester City in all competitions. The second half was quieter but in stoppage time, Jamie Barron rounded the keeper and rolled the ball into the net from 20 yards. Marlow's captain was dismissed for a second yellow, but there was barely time to restart and, although they've played two games more, Winchester go within a point of Cinderford, who were surprisingly held at home by Wimborne. Elsewhere, Bashley picked up their first point at the 27th attempt.

BFS will get Sunderland to fight, they have had a few good results recently and in Defoe they have a goal scorer. You might get Boro in the premier league next season although their results have been poor recently.

Yep, that didn't happen. It was cold, we had 10 men for most of it (I didn't see the sending off incident but it was either v harsh or absolutely right depending on who you talk to....) so it probably was a plucky point in the end but doesn't help much.
We equalised just as I was trying to cash out my Colchester 1-0 Chesterfield bet .... grrrrrrr

I am not well versed in Dutch, but does their word "luck" translate in English to "uninspired team management" as that well-known Son of the Polders has made a statement to the effect that the Manchester United away defeat in the Europa League this week was "down to bad luck"...:roll:
