The question is would you be willing to pay Sky for a poor standard of football with paltry crowds

Keeping rangers in the league will show that if you've got enough power you can bend the rules. How is that good for Scotland?

The champions league place would last about a year before UEFA told the SFA that your clubs are not good enough to warrant two places in champions league, then you would be back to square one.
How do you think Motherwell be go on in the Champions league? knocked out well before group stages by some team from Hungary!!

I've read somewhere today that Kilmarnock reckon they'll need to shift an extra thousand season tickets next season to cover the loss they make from not playing the Gers at home twice.

Chelseas images released for the proposal at Battersea power station.

Daily mail with lazy picture editor

Don't forget Chelsea FC are also willing to fund the majority of the Northern line Battersea extension if they do indeed win the right to use the Power Station.

Sorry if this point has already been made, but can anyone cite another case in British football of a football team accused of misdemeanors to be allowed a vote in a similar situation, where all the other teams alone should be the only ones allowed.

Is this something peculiar to Scottish Law ? It is like the accused in a Court of Law having his/her representative amongst the jurors.

How long has this situation existed within the rules of Scottish football ?

Call my cynical but Rangers are get preferential treatment because they have money. What if it were Ross County in the same situation? Obviously I can't be sure but I doubt the prospect would even be entertained.

Just a thought...

If Rangers had to start again from SD3, would they be the most likely winners in the history of League football worldwide? Surely they would be more likely to win 108 points (i.e. the maximum) than not win it...

Would all depend on what players they would have left from the current squad. Though I say this without actually knowing if many are to be sold or have to be sold.

Green has said that story is rubbish and the Bury chairman said they wouldn't sell anyway.

If an approach to Bury FC had actually been made, under the present financial strictures that currently govern Glasgow Rangers FC, would any "football offence" have been committed under the rules of either the English FA or the Scottish FA ?

No because it will be Charles Green buying Bury not Rangers, with his personal wealth.
Regulations state can not own two clubs Fa affiliated, but one would be Fa and the other SFA. This affected the original Plymouth Argyle take over as Kevin Heaney already owned Truro City.

Rubbish. It goes on co efficient, how well a country's domestic clubs do in European competitions determines how many European spaces the league gets.

If you get rid of Rangers in two or three years time your champions league place will be replaced with a place in Europa league, it happened to the italians there teams never did anything in champions league and they lost a place.
The better your team does in european competitions the more places you have, look at England they have 4 teams in the champions league thats because there teams do well in the competition year in year out.
Only Rangers and Celtic have kept Scottish football with two places in the champions league, and the fact that they qualified for the group stages.
If you let Rangers go and replace them with Motherwell and other second rated clubs who never get to group stages then your place will go

I personally would not mind if that did happen, that way the 'second rate' teams as you so quaintly and ignorantly put, have the opportunity to build up their talent and achievements within their means, rather than having the league stagnate as it is, and Rangers spending their tax obligations on players they could not possibly otherwise afford.

As for the champions league.. Tell me, what success has their spendthrift illegal activity reaped in success on a European level? An appearance in the europa league final, where they got horsed by Zenit St Petersburg, in the most dismal route which saw them score the fewest goals ever for a finallist? Hardly 'bought success' on a Man City level.

Its also a principle; Rangers and Celtic were itching to abandon the SPL who were 'holding them back' and 'scottish football would die without them'. All of a sudden, they are everything about Scottish football, and pleading for the other teams to vote yes, claiming that 'Scottish football needs Rangers'.

Remorseless, ****less, thuggish reprobates of the lowest form.

Sky is holding the SPL to ransom - you can dress it up however you like. Has nobody considered they might be better off without sky and domestic competition can increase between the SPL and Scottish Division 1

Sky have issued no official statements yet.

The only comments about Sky have came from journalists.

The question is would you be willing to pay Sky for a poor standard of football with paltry crowds

How would that be different to most SPL matches now?

Keeping rangers in the league will show that if you've got enough power you can bend the rules. How is that good for Scotland?

Worst thing possible.

Those are the rules set up when the SPL clubs voted on such matters. It makes no sense but those are, bizarrely, the rules.

After passing his medical, 23 year-old Japanese midfielder Shinji Kagawa has signed a four-year contract with Manchester United after leaving Borussia Dortmund, with whom he helped them to win the German national league last season.

This is one area in which they were sadly lacking last season, resulting in the return from retirement of Paul Scholes to help bolster the midfield.

Good signing that from all the reports and youtube clips(i know thats shoddy but i dont live in Germany) that ive seen and read.

With regards to the SPL discussion going on - anything that keeps them out of the English leagues ill be happy ;) You know the one that both they and Celtic reckoned they could just waltz in too ;)

Would the fact that Charles Green, being in the position that he is in, still be a person in authority and an accredited member of the management of Glasgow Rangers FC....and as such, the raison d'etre of a proposed take over of Bury FC would be deemed as in contravention of the rules of both the Scottish FA and the English FA, with the financial situation of Glasgow Rangers FC being what it was at the time of such an approach.

Surely, the only way that he could purchase Bury FC, with as you say, his own personal wealth, would be to totally break all links to Glasgow Rangers FC and to resign from any managerial authority at that club completely, before such a deal was allowed to take place.

I think your quoted example of Plymouth Argyle FC and Truro City FC is not valid with regard to the FA bodies of both England and Scotland, as both these clubs are members of the English FA only.

Charles green has no connection with the rangers in financial turmoil, he has simply purchased All the assets of the liquidated company.

Livingston were demoted from The Scottish First Division to Third Division in 2009 when they ran into financial problems for the second time.

Yes, I realise what you say, but as holder of these assets, he therefore has the stated connection with Glasgow Rangers FC.

Nope not at all, his only connection is that he has bought the assets from the old co, in such a manner as a customer. It is no different to the connection I have from the estate agent I bought my house off, or the car dealer i bought my car from.
He is however connected to the new co, which have no debts or financial irregularatories

We eventually reach the nub of the matter. If matters are as you so describe above, with his connection to a "blameless" new company, why did the matter of an approach to Bury FC ever need to have been made at all ?

due to the difficulty in a new team being admitted to the SPL and he deems having the team in scottish league 3 completely unsustainable. A route into English football, its no secret the SPL is poor standards, so think how bad division 3 will be. at least the lower english leagues are still ok standards.

I was at Bloomfield rd to see my SPL team win there. When I say seen them win I was absoloutely guttered and missed both Hibs goals as I left after half an hour to go to the boozer as the police shut the bar under the stand.
