FO2 Shunters Payscales

What are the average payscales for a FO2 Shunter?

And can anyone give me a general idea of the role and what it fully entails?

Hi! Could I ask what FO2 is? We used to have shunters up at Neville Hill before we all became Service Drivers which is basically a Shunter/Driver.

In all honesty I am not fully sure, I believe there is a fo1 and a fo2 with FGW. The Fo2 is a deputy to the fo1 maybe?

Moving trains in and out ? Refuling Trains etc ?

I am trying to figure out the full range the job entails

ATW shunter drivers are responsible for setting points, controlling signals, and driving trains all within the depot, splitting & swapping coaches and loco's also. Paywise i'd guess upper 20's pus shift allowance where necassary. Never heard of 1&2's tho.

Basic Pay is 29.5k for an MDD Shunter at Northern (same job as what's being described above) don't know what it is at other companies but it's normally around 9k less than mainline drivers. No wage enhancements other than overtime and Xmas/boxing day
