Just seen what I imagine to be this service approaching Reddish South, formed of 3x142 & 1x150, should work out at around one passenger per unit?

One of my mates is on it and said it is 150+142+142+150.

It's booked a double 142.

On Good Friday in past years they've almost filled a 150 on Stockport-Stalybridge.

Looking at RTT it looks like it's normal for 2 x 142s to operate the 07:15 Macclesfield-Piccadilly, do an ECS to Stockport and then to run the Stockport-Stalybridge.

However, this week the usual Crewe-Bolton service was terminated at Piccadilly platform 9 in front of the units off the 07:15 Macclesfield-Piccadilly, leaving 4 DMUs there to return to Newton Heath.

Yes, with all in service - ECS being a completely different kettle of fish!

Probably when they hired in the Pretendolino for Leeds-Harrogate shuttles when the Tour De France came to Yorkshire.

I don't think Northern can operate any 8 car workings with all 8 cars in use, except for special services which miss out normal calling points, due to platform lengths.
