Flying Scotsman TV Programme

There will be a TV Programme On Monday on BBC2 about the Flying Scotsman Steam loco. (Interesting as I was only wondering what had happend that loco the other day, maybe I will find out after watching the programme.)

Yes, I was only thinking the same thing over the weeked, about how many rail related programmed there are at the moment, including the Portillo repeats on BBC3.

By coincidence it's being repeated tonight, Tuesday, at 11.20pm on BBC2.

I fell asleep half way through too, so didn't see about 20 minutes worth, woke before the end. Didn't miss a thing as far as I could tell. Quite a boring programme.

Watched it on iPlayer earlier and found it quite interesting, I knew about the World Records etc but had no idea about any other history when it comes to steam trains.

Did anyone see the programme on the Flying Scotsman Steam locomotive the other night at all?

In the list of the owners I am sure that they missed out Pete Waterman, who I thought owned it for a few years?

Okay, it turns out that Peter Waterman was amongst the enthusiasts that helped William McAlpine bring the Flying Scot back to the UK to the Southall Railway Centre.

I have just been watching this enjoayble programme.

I was surprised though when they said that "Flying Scotsman" was the first steam loco to reach 100 MPH which it did in the late 1920s or 1930s as I thought I heard that the GWR Loco, "City of Truro", reached 100 MPH many years before.
