Hey guys don't know if it's been discussed elsewhere but apparently we have some major issues with flying Scotsman today the move was cancelled and rumoured that the fault could make the loco unserviceable anybody able to shed some light on the problem and any more information heard about it as it's all a bit quiet and due back to do fife circle tours next Sunday are they in danger?

Leaking tubes apparently, suggesting it won't be doing anything anytime soon depending on seriousness.

Looks like 61306 Mayflower is doing the rest of the trip according to Steam Dreams timings page. A class 37 double heading as well for today and tomorrow.

I wonder if they were aware of issues going North as is most of the pictures I've seen the B1 seemed to be doing the lion's share of the work.

Mayflower completing the tour from Inverness was planned anyway. FS should have gone light to Bo'ness on Sunday for the Fife circle tours.

Where is the Flying Scotsman at the moment, I assume it left Inverness this morning?

Argh, I wish I'd known - I was in Inverness this afternoon with my dad. It would have been nice to catch a glimpse. Any idea if it's likely to be there tomorrow?

You can get a glimpse passing on a train, other than that I don't know how good a look you may get from any vantage points. I don't know how long its going to be here for. I thought I read something somewhere quoting Wednesday, but I can't find it again now. Nothing showing on RTT at the moment and probably no chance anything will.

“Vantage point” for it seems to be anywhere you like, based on experience of it to date!

There is a separate thread to discuss the issues regarding trespassing; can we keep this thread on topic please? Thanks :)

If you head to the petrol garage at Morrisons you should see front of the train I saw it from the bus today home

Thanks for the info, I'll go have a look. There was a good vantage spot from Crown (the one where the road loops round) but I tried to see the 37 from there but the trees now block the view. Then again the spot just above the Eastgate centre might be good.

Edit - I've been down this morning and it's sitting over the back where the 47 was over the winter, it was hard to see past the cars beside Morrisons but you can just see it from Crown:

I've tried seeing engines here from the fence on the other side but it's all quite overgrown there.

Why did they leave the engine rather than haul it with them since I assume it's unlikely to leave under its own power? 37403 was also left here last year when it had trouble on its railtour while the sleeper 67 hauled the carriages back down.
