Flitwick to Wembley 18/08

Hi,

There are 15 of us that need to travel to Wembley next Thursday. We need to leave between 6 and 7am and will be returning around 2pm. The cheapest I have found is £30.90 per person (without railcards) going via West Hampstead. I am the only person in the group to hold a railcard.

Is there anyway of getting this cheaper? We are happy to take a longer route and to split tickets if required. We are also happy to leave from Millbrook if that is cheaper.

(Was going to suggest GroupSave, when I posted I saw you want to leave early so it's not valid . You can get Anytime Singles out, and GroupSave Off Peak singles back, but it only saves ~£1 per person.)

I don't know if you can ask for Offpeak groupsave return tickets with the outward portion changed to standard anytime non groupsave, paying the "excess fare". Someone with better knowledge would give better advice.

When you have a group of more then 10 and you can guarantee everyone in your group is travelling together there and back you usually phone the group travel department of the rail company you are using to find out what discounts they offer details are usually found somewhere on their websites.

I don't see why you can't do an excess - but it would be the full difference. If an excess is made for the sole purpose of 'change of ticket type' to enable travel at a time that would be restricted for the ticket held, then you can only excess to the FULL difference, not half!
