A query for a colleague - I am at work so can't access avantix cd at the moment.

leave flitwick at 06:50 FCC service then 08:35 from waterloo.

He wants a flitwick to Bournemouth ticket (weekday - return same day) - the work travel agent has supplied off-peak return tickets saying they are valid on the trains he wants - restriction UT with an easment saying they are valid on the 08:35 from Waterloo.
But I can't see any mention of them being valid from Flitwick at that time (as Bournemouth & flitwick are both in the Network area)

Trainline through FCC site lets you book the off-peak day return using the 06:50 from flitwick.
East coast site only allows you to purchase anytime return on that service.

Is the off-peak day return valid using the 06:50 from Flitwick?

The ticket has a validity code of UT, which does indeed have an easement for the 0835 train, however, it lists restrictions on arriving in London aswell as departing. Arrival at St Pancras is listed as valid on trains arriving at 1003 or later.

Thanks.
That was my interpretation but the travel agent was adamant that it is valid from Flitwick on the 06:50.
The fact that FCC booking system (via trainline) lets you book this whereas the East coast site doesn't also caused some confusion.

NRE shows the 0650 train as valid on an Off Peak Day Return (£48.80), changing at Elephant & Castle, so I'd say it's valid.

Does your colleague have reservations for the journey?

It's probably due to how the journey planners interpret the restrictions - they probably see only the change at Elephant and so don't check the London Terminals time restrictions.

If the FCC site shows it as valid your colleague might consider using that as proof it is valid (even though I don't think it is and FasTIS agrees with me here) just incase an RPI comes along. I'm sure if your colleague is charged extra, the travel agent will happily cover this (not!).

I'd say to simply not pay, on the grounds that the ticket is valid (or perhaps more accurately advertised for that service).

National Rail Enquiries (NRE) is the definitive source of information for all passenger rail services on the National Rail network in England, Wales and Scotland.

I'd be amazed if FCC pursued this if shown the itinerary on NRE or their own journey planner. They would of course amend the journey planner so it no longer shows up, but wouldn't stand a chance in court.
