First Northern - do they know something we don't?

I was just checking off my credit card statement and I spotted that the transaction at the (as far as I know) Northern operated ticket office at my nearby staffed station is described as "First {name of the station}".

Which station was it?

Some stations have separate ticket offices where there are staff from two or more companies but I can't think of any (non-main) stations where that is the case up in Northernland.

Has it always shown as 'First'?

Is it just a legacy from the previous franchise, First North Western or whatever it was called?

Not the statement name, but our tickets still officially come from the "TRAVEL CENTRE" that hasn't existed in my station for many many years!

Certainly not a TPE station and never was. For a transaction in March 2013 it showed as "Northern Spirit Ltd". TPE (nor any other First TOC) don't go anywhere near, and it's not a former FNW station.

Slightly on another subject, not so long ago, I visited the site of Traveline Cymru and inputted "Bangor railway station" as the point of departure into the journey planner, which brought up an entry of "First North Western Bangor station" on the planner.

I bought a ticket on a Northern train in the Leeds area last week and it has shown up on my statement as "NORTHERN SPIRIT LTD (CITY)."
