The first train where you can use an off peak ticket to London from Flitwick should be 09:13 but this is one of the current GTR "secret timetable" cancellations, so hopefully you can get the 09:27 and get some money back after the event.
But if you need to be in London just after 10 wouldn't it be fairer if you could use the train before this (the 08:57) with an off peak ticket? Instead you have to pay the full price for an Anytime ticket, I presume.
So as I understand it, the DfT gain from the extra fair revenue. Hardly fair is it?
