Had my DMI last week at Exeter St Davids, think it went well. Waiting for the outcome, which I guess has been delayed due to the bank holiday, feels like a very long wait!
Both of the interviewers at separate points said that they are interviewing 250 people, wished I asked them to expand on what they meant by this. When I thought about this after the interview this seems an unfeasibly high number!

Had my DMI at Exeter myself on the 26th and told I would hear results within 48hrs. I also think the bank holiday weekend has meant that the central HR are on a go slow. Its goung to be a very long weekend waiting

Well done hope it went well for both you. At least you guys can enjoy the weather. I think my interview is going to conducted by 2 women who are both very successful within GWR. Is it sad to say I'm looking forward to talking to them? Haha

You mean the 16th surely?

Good luck to all who are awaiting results or awaiting their date.

I’m intrigued to know what this figure was in relation to! I cannot ever see there being that many interviews for Exeter. You would be in the talent pool for 10 years if you just made the cut!

250 candidates seems like a lot, but would be narrowed down to only a handful of people for the pool (maybe 10 or 15 depending on the requirements of that depot?).

I think they meant candidates, but they said interviews.
If 250 applied, then say 50 got through to assessment, then 30 MMI, then 20 for the DMI feels about right. Pure speculation of course!

We can only guess now! I know that last week on 11th there were 4 of us interviewed, and not sure about the other days or this week.
It’s a shame that we are not told our position in the talent pool after all of the interviews.
At least you could prepare mentally if you knew how many were in front of you!

Assuming it’s the same for all areas, my email to say I was successful in my interview said they needed to interview and assess all candidates before completing the pool, and everyone in the pool will be placed in order of their performance at interview.

I initially thought the pool was company wide, meaning nobody would be contacted until it’s completed, however I believe the pools are depot specific re-Reading the original email again and if what I’ve seen at this forum is anything to go by.

When I sat the first stage at Swindon in 2018, the lady said that 6000 people had applied. She however, wasn’t aware, how many actual position were available.

What Station mate and how was it compared to the MMI?
It was for Gloucs, tbh I had passed my assessments previously but overall the DMI was along the same lines as the MMI. Although it included a lot about your knowledge of GWR, depot, units etc so worthwhile building your knowledge in these areas as well.

how was yours mate, was along the same lines as Des587 said?
Yeah pretty much the same. Only a few questions about the company.
Few questions like tell us a time you’ve gone above the call of duty?
Lot of questions to do with the role of the train driver and there responsibilities. It was really chilled though, they made me feel at ease. This interview to me was about show I have the right attitude.
They focused on customer service a lot.

Thanks for the recent posts about DMI, everyone. I have mine on May 17th, and I am both a bit petrified and very much looking forward to it... I really don't want to fail when I am this close to the perfect end result!

Just stay calm and communicate well. They are not looking to catch you out at this stage!

Did they give you any indication on the day of when you may hear? I guess it depends on how quickly they can score the interviews and update HR.
