I recieved a thanks but no thanks from GWR today, although a friend of mine also received an invite for an assessment centre so I would imagine most people will be hearing a result very soon.

Is it for any of yhe depots in london or outside london?

It was for the GWR first group trainee driver in Bristol. Was definitely the weak lack of effort on the application form and not finishing the alphanumeric test due to a distraction. Lessons to be learnt here for me!

It’s a tough process, sorry to hear the news. Having said that, there’s not much of an application for if memory serves me? Do you even have to attach a CV? I’ve lost track, but I certainly don’t recall attaching a CV to this one.

I’ve yet to hear either way.

I spent quite a bit of time on my personal details and CV on my account but did not have to attach this to the application. Not sure if they have used this or if is simply the two online assessments at this stage.

No CV attached, but on the online application form I did just simply copy and paste parts of my CV that I thought were all relevant. The fact I was a supervisor, my involvement with H&S, and my customer service experience. What I didn’t didn’t do was going to detail of just how much I had done and I think the biggest thing I didn’t do was express enough in detail about how much I know about it and where it is elevent for the railways. The whole thing was rushed really. Which I know now is a big mistake. Where as now I have one I’m doing now saved on my computer so when the time comes I have everything I need ready to go.

Testing your ability to accurately communicate in written form. It's sort of a story board and you have to write an after-incident report about it.

Thanks for the heads up. Still no email yet but i'm hoping no news is good news.

In preparation for the above tests at the assessment centre, which is the best software to use / buy to practice with? how2become.com seems to have a 'full package' but the names of the tests seem different.

Any advice on where I should be spending my money? Not bothered about cost, just want the accurate software to give myself a fighting chance to practice beforehand!
