First Group day rover (Priv) query

I can buy PRIV Avanti Day Rovers, and I'm looking to get a group of four from Euston - Liverpool Lime street, and return later that week on a separate batch of day rovers.

I'll be lead passenger on each leg, but if another pax has to make alternative arrangements for either leg (obvs paying standard fare), does that invalidate the pre-booked tickets?

For clarity, I guess the question is: Do the number of pax indicated on the Rovers have to travel, in order to fulfil the ticket validity (like GWR groupsave), or will our Rovers still be valid if someone can't make the journey.

These are nothing to do with PRIV.

The group size indicated on them in the maximum group size, they don't all have to travel. However, anyone that does, must travel with you and cannot do it alone. You also don't need to include yourself in the numbers for the Rover ticket if you have your own travel facilities that allow travel on Avanti.

I think I didn't know they existed before I read this thread, let alone they were only £6, so whilst I assumed they were something for staff travel only, I felt it resonable to ask the question. Also noting the phrase 'This has nothing to do with PRIV' being used earlier.

They are only available to First Group staff (with more than 6 months service), not all rail staff, and the staff member must travel as part of the group. Having only worked for First TOCs in spells of less than 6 months I have never qualified to buy one!
