First Group - Apprenticeship

Anyone applied for this?

I forgot I did a while back and i've just received a text message informing me of an assessment centre next Friday.

Question is though, how much does it pay? It didn't exactly say much on the application form.

Also, i've got to go to Moorgate next Friday.

Yeah those were for the Engineering gigs.
Well I think the rate for the customer service apprenticeship is the current minimum hourly rate which I think is 6.25?

I almost declined to go, until I read the corresponding letter, which, when shown, provides free travel down to Moorgate via FCC (So it states).

By the sounds of it, you can't be that keen to join the scheme if the cost of travel was putting you off attending the interview?

Just show any staff at the barriers or RPI the letter and they will let you through. All people attending interviews for FCC receive similar letters, so there shouldn't be any issues.

Well, I was until I saw it would cost me £53 return to attend and money at present for myself is a little scarce to come by.

But seeing the letter has made the decision a bit easier.

I am guessing this is for the First Capital Connect I have applied for the engineering apprenticeships but had no reply

I just says on my letter 'This will consist of a situational exercise, team exercise and group activity'.

It also notes 'We will be asking a group of people to join us at the same time so please be aware that there will be a short waiting time between the two sessions. For this reason, you may like to bring a book to read'.

So it sounds like we'll be there for a while, but I hope they are able to give an answer as this will be my third interview this week.

Post #2 has different figures and the amount you're quoting above sounds very low, even for an apprenticeship scheme. :?

My post about wage was for first scotrail not FCC. Not sure about FCC unfortunately

I have the email one of the recruiters sent me. If you want it, I can PM you.

By the sounds of it, they're expecting quite a few people to drop out because of the low wage judging by the email.

It most likely about £100 a week, that's the going rate for fgw apprentice's. I know a number of them so this is accurate.
