The days of keeping buses to the one route are long gone. I imagine when the new Yutongs arrive for Scotstoun they’ll be split amongst the 2, 3, 6A and 77.
Is there any more Ex Bristol Air Deckers coming up?

First Glasgow are a EV400 down this morning. One burst into flames in Kirkintilloch earlier today. No injuries reported.

Oh my, this is probably going to lead to a batch recall of buses again if they find out why it caught fire.

Looking at the photo if the bus fire it looks as if it started in the driver's cab area or underneath . Is there electrical equipment in that area?
There is also no chance of saving it from the photos. It’s not like 34368, that got burnt and fixed up again because it was just the top deck and rear, 38465 is totally done for.

It was out of service as well heading up to Harestanes to start an 88 so more than likely something electrical
These things happen, not every incident needs things to be recalled and taken off fleet
Then what lead to the recall of the batch of BYD E200EVs a while ago?

A spokesperson for Alexander Dennis told national media: “Following an incident earlier this year, Alexander Dennis, BYD and other relevant parties have identified that there is a potential issue relating to the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system supplied by Hispacold for some BYD-Alexander Dennis electric buses.
”The investigation is still ongoing and the root cause has not yet been identified. As the safety of our customers’ team members, bus drivers and passengers is of the utmost importance to us, a safety bulletin has been issued to all affected operators with temporary precautionary measures to ensure the highest levels of safety are met. “Further updates will be provided to operators on conclusion of the investigation by Alexander Dennis, BYD and impacted suppliers, in consultation with the DVSA, when we expect to provide a permanent fix to resolve the issue. As far as is currently known, the issue does not directly affect core driveline components such as electric motors or traction batteries. Neither is there currently any suggestion that the issue is linked to other bus fires that recently received media attention as these involved different vehicle types and technologies.’

thats a) if it was that and b) things can go wrong at anytime even if it works
Noted. But I’m still a bit worried about the other BYD EVs.
Why are you worried? These things happen. Let the company investigate the reason and implement anything that needs changed or solved. It's not something for the general public to be concerned about

Why are you worried a) its 99% an isolated incident and b) who actually cares its only a bus

Alright. It’s just that it seemed so random, and it could have happened while in service. Thankfully it didn’t, but that’s why I said I was a bit worried.
