Yutongs are for Aberdeen repowers not sure yet keep a eye on the rock order as most of that will be for Glasgow.first Glasgow were due 25 e400ev looks like it was a rumour

It is likely some or all of the Rock Road award is for First Glasgow as the Scottish Government firstly said all buses had to go through Rock Road and then changed their minds and restarted the process.

Unless First are planning on starting to replace their E300s with deckers - I’m unsure why Aberdeen would need 22 Yutong deckers?

Given Aberdeen already operate Yutong I’d be surprised if Glasgow saw any but you never know!

I had a gander and Caledonia have 7 repowers and Scotstoun have 6 E400MMCs, but Caledonia do have 2 of Scotstoun's repowers right now, so technically Caledonia have 9, so it should be an increase of 1/3

The investment includes nearly £6m Transport Scotland Scottish Zero Emission Bus (ScotZEB) funding and will bring 37 more electric buses to Glasgow and a further 40 chargers to its Scotstoun depot.

When completed, 67% of the Scotstoun fleet will be electric, with these latest vehicles adding to the existing 72 electric buses introduced since 2022.

The new buses will be introduced to local networks from next year, and will include 15 repower vehicles - former diesel buses converted to electric. Currently, 52% of the total First Bus Scotland fleet is zero emission

Interesting that Glasgow have opted for Yutong deckers. Certainly not complaining as they seem like a good product. Hoping to see them on the 2!

Excuse my ignorance but who or what is Rock Road? What is happening with the ADL products they hsve ordered? I sm nit surprised no order from First since other than for Glasgow they mainly choose Wright or more recently Yutong. It's a disgrace since First Group is or wad a Scottish owned Opera.tor

More of those Ex-Cornwall E400MMCs are being rolled out now, was able to catch the only WK18 plate one yesterday on the 75. Some of them appear to not have had re-trims yet, while others do.

Just a general question/observation, any ideas why the routes such as 240/255 are not double deckers?

I noticed it more towards Glasgow than say out towards Hamilton/Overtown

240 is run from Overtown depot and they don’t have a bus wash big enough for deckers. They did have some deckers running from Overtown during Covid on the 240 but after 33268 had an argument with a low bridge in Wishaw the deckers were sent back to Blantyre

Aah, I just wondered as I was surprised that (255), the bus was busy when I boarded, has there been people missed due to overcrowding on these services? (credit due at least the bus app gave an estimate of chairs available on bus, so was happy to avoid 240/255 back to Glasgow and got the 61 instead!)

Another thing I spotted and do think it needs sorted was their displays (looks like some were stating the destination as rolling text - similar to the side display?), the most obvious one that rolls and cuts off at the front is the one going to Drumchapel maybe the 6?), I seen on one bus it displayed the number on left and Drumchapel rolls out halfway cross display to stop/start again.

Displays are very hit and miss. Some buses went to Aberdeen and came back with those scrolling displays. Mostly sorted but one or two of the Lanarkshire Streetlites have poor quality displays. Lots of extra dots lit making the display hard to read 63208 I think is one, another of the ex Aberdeen lot is poor too, might be 63202, and 47392 is round the wrong way. Number above the driver. Been like that for months.

I noticed on a few of their buses Enviro 200(s) and the Streetlites the numbers at the back for some odd reason positioned further down than being centre! I’m sure I even seen on one display for the 60 it looked more like 606!

I still would have thought that if you are at least updating the destinations check them before deploying them out? Hopefully if they do route/timetable changes in future they’ll get updated.

I noticed on one of the “repowers” it was on the 6A display was 6A - Renfrew Street (number left destination centre wasn’t scrolling luckily!)

Does bare the question what will happen with Overtown once the fleet goes fully electric. Is there space to expand Blantyre or possibly a new smaller depot to run the surplus where charging ports can be installed

Sometimes get the odd decker on the 255, If the 240 had deckers it would alleviate the overcrowding but as it's been said Overtown can't accommodate deckers
