The oldest R300s are Mid 2012. So given that First Glasgow expect 17 years of life will be Mid 2029 before they considera replacement. Some older non E300s. due before then of course.

This is First we’re talking about. They won’t order new buses without Grants from the Government.
The poster has probably got confused with the previous Commonwealth Games in 2014.
The majority of the new stuff should've stayed here it was much needed at that time instead we ended up with Streetlites and they where before the games even started back in May 2014, Wouldn't of minded some brand new E400s at the timeFirst ordered lots of new buses for the Commonwealth Games then they all got sent South once they ended in true First fashion

Agreed Glasgow was in desperate need of new buses at this point. Not keeping a single new bus from the games was ridiculous.
Instead the 61 got a mix of 10 year old ex-London tridents and B7TLs with thread bare seats. It took until 2021 for the 61 to get new buses.

It’s not confusing anything. Regardless if it was announced beforehand it was disappointing that Glasgow didn’t get to keep any of the many E400s that were deployed to our city for our Commonwealth Games. Especially given Glasgow had a lot of old deckers at that point.
The 60 still sees quite a mixed bag. It sees EVs but also a lot of diesels and whatever is in the depot really. I saw an E300 on the 60 the other day.
No - they weren’t your deckers at any point (they were loans to Games Trandprt) and they were always destined to head to the former Finglands operation as they didn’t acquire the fleet just the ops.
At one time the 60 daytime was mostly EVs. However more E400MMCs and E300s too. Perhaps there is a shortage of E400evs for now. There were odd E200evs. Perhaps that's where the E300s come in for now.

Won't be as the number is staying as a 77 it's just a round the clock service like they where years ago in the Overground days.

The City to Partick corridor was left without a night service when First withdrew the majority of their N services in 2023 and McGill’s didn’t replace it so at least it’s returning on a better frequency and operating every night of the week but it will be interesting to see if it lasts.
It’s the perfect route for a trial, as it runs between the City Centre and the QEUH, meaning it would benefit late night hospital staff workers getting to and from work.
Was on 71046 today heading for in theory Baillieston. 6 weeks later than last reported the internal screens are still showing the famous Cribbs Causeway destination in Bristol Quite a few drivers just leave the internal displays switched off to limit the amount of questions where???? Along with the admission that nobody seems to know or bother how to sort the problem.
I’d guess that it’s down to not having enough staff to fix these issues therefore the priority will always be to run the mileage irrespective of faulty on-board screens.
