Sending a bus out in service with the destination equiptment being just plain wrong really isn't the standards you should be able to expect.
Of course it’s not, but when it’s comes to clarity, attention to detail and applying the finishing touches, First aren’t exactly industry leaders in this. If you were a first time traveler, their website and the unpredictable performance of the app could put you off straight away.

In the early days of deregulation, I remember Central displaying paper destinations on the windscreens on short-lived services to Castlemilk.

I noticed this morning that Enviro 400MMC 33251 is now in Ultraviolet livery, hence there are no remaining red 18 branded buses.

Of all the branded colours - the red was always the most striking and one of my favourites.

Same situation with 63272 but as they’re Streetlites, I wouldn’t be losing too much sleep over their absence from service but that’s my personal opinion.
They really haven't lasted very long these buses have they. At only 11 years old they are almost seen as veterans nowadays.

Almost universally hated since their introduction, most of the time it takes a while for a vehicle type to build up a negative perception as they age disgracefully.

Let's see how many make preservation!

I always find the views on Streetlites interesting. The oldest examples are now 15 years old (WF version). That a couple of 11 year old ones are out of use is probably a reflection that they were parked up awaiting repair for ages (and that in itself is a reflection of First Scotland East's trials and tribulations). FWIW, I don't think there's much difference between a standard Streetlite (47***) and an equivalent e200.

The real difference is between the Max versions and the heavyweight options - e.g. Eclipse, Solar. I don't think anyone is suggesting that the Streetlite isn't a poor substitute for an Eclipse or a Renown.

However, I think there is also a bit of recency bias at work here. Are they the worst buses ever built? Have we forgotten how bad Leyland Nationals could be?

I'd not be surprised to see a Streetlite in preservation. Who would have thought that van derived minibuses would be saved yet we see Transits, Sherpas and Iveco Turbo Dailys now lovingly preserved.

63272 was actually in service for two days back in January 2025. I saw it on the 1C (sadly couldn’t get a photo of it though).

I dunno why it was only out for two days at Dumbarton then off the road again.

It’s one of the batch of 26 which entered service at First Midland Bluebird and the majority of them were nothing but bother from day one.

They were allocated to higher average speed services from Stirlingshire and West Lothian to Edinburgh which didn’t help and they wouldn’t have been much use on “The One” group of services neither.

Is that why a majority of them got withdrawn when McGills took over?

Seems odd to return it after only a few weeks unless First South Yorkshire were short of buses.
I have heard from multiple people now that we are getting roughly 25 Enviro400EVs for Caledonia next year, so it makes sense that this one has come back. Might even stay permanently

Hope they are for the one services, fed up feeling like a sardine in a can
Well they are for Caledonia as I said but I know that the Scotstoun MMCs are being freed up from all the NewPowers that have arrived there. That's a potential opportunity for Dumbarton to get some deckers.
