Was thinking back about the services I used to have near me even back in my schooldays which to be fair only ended in May 8 years ago and it's been interesting to watch the changes happen. Actually don't think there's been anything bad in amongst them either given the general drop in passenger numbers over the years.

9-Replaced by the 3 in the west
42- Gone but replaced from Scotstoun to Drumchapel by 1C
44- Part replaced by X4 from Westland Drive to Knightswood but renumbered as the 4 and cut back to Broomhill
62- Practically the same just renumbered 2
66- Renumbered to the 6 and cut back to Clydebank
204/205/215/216- Replaced by the best bit of innovation from First in the last 8 years IMO. 1D replaced the 6 between Clydebank and Mountblow and demand was great pre-pandemic

I do like analysis of old routes compared to newer ones and how the network has changed over the years. Will be interesting to see what things look like post-pandemic

Interesting to see that the Streetlites that came to Glasgow recently have already had a shot on the 2 and 3. Was having a look around Flickr and noticed pics of them

Think they were always going to end up on other routes at some point although it may not have been without reason. Generally seemed to be the M11 and M60 I seen them on anytime I've came across them

Given the proximity of Broomhill to Scotstoun I'm surprised the 4/4A haven't been split between Scotstoun and Caley. Not the only services that could be split based on proximity to a terminus though. 60/60A are another

Wasn’t there talk of the 9/9A moving to Caley in exchange for the 2 fully moving over to Scotstoun?

Think Caley is to get the 9 once these electric buses arrive next year. So it’s possible the full 2 road goes to Scotstoun and possibly more of the 6 or possibly another service.

What's it called? It's called Cumbernauld
It does make sense for the 9 to be transferred to Caledonia as that route predominantly operates south of the Clyde nowadays (it used to run Drumchapel - Pollok Centre or South Nitshill pre Overground, then Drumchapel - Linwood via Paisley Road West before being revised to run in its present day form).

Also, when the 2 was the 62, was that ever jointly operated by both Parkhead and Knightswood (later Scotstoun)?

I suppose it makes sense with 9 , caley have worked shorts and specials on the 9 before.

With Scotstoun operating more of the 6, i hope Scotstoun ask for low heights off Caley. what ever happened hybrid low height e400s?

Seen more low heights on the 6 during COVID naturally but prior it’s been mainly singles so perhaps that route will see E300s going forward. They could probably put the E400s to better use elsewhere I don’t think the 6 is as busy as it once was.

Certainly west of the city centre it's nowhere near as busy as it used to be. The schools do fill them up but outside of that they're not worth a 10 min frequency IMO. Would say the 6A is certainly busier from what I've seen. Could probably split the 6 in the city centre and reduce the West end frequency to every 12/15 mins

Dreaded e300s! Having a quiet upstairs e400 on the 6 has been bliss, but i have noticed the 6 and 4 becoming quieter. If they reduce freq would make sense to have e400s!

Were the E400s hybrids not meant to be getting converted to full diesel at some point?

Haven't seen them in the road in a while now.

Been having a look on Flickr at older First Glasgow pictures and Strathclyde Bus ones and it's interesting to see the different routes we've had. Wonder if post-Covid we will see a shake up in order to reduce services accordingly but also get more areas covered at the same time to save costs etc. Did think pre-Covid that the network needed a shake up but it's going to be interesting that if changes come just what way will they be implemented and how severe will they end up needing to be

Seemed to be more routes back then. Now its concentrated on the main roads.

I keep thinking the 6 is every 12 min freq, when i get it it appears to be that freq.

When passenger numbers do pick up, id keep them on 6.

What's it like passenger wise on the south side? Pre-pandemic over at my end you'd only have needed 1 or 2 deckers at most. Quietest of the services via Yoker by far and even up to Anniesland it's not anywhere near as busy as it used to be a few years back.

Great Western Road reliability doesn't help though to be fair. I'd like to see it split in 2 but it's only easy to split it from Calderwood to Hope at Renfrew Street whereas Clydebank to City Centre is harder to find a terminus spot. Wouldn't be the space to use George Square like the 6A
