Not so much that Transport Scotland have pulled the deal - its more the deal discussed and put in black and white is different an operators can’t agree to.

new buses
various routes developed

A good surprise? I think the thing with cutbacks on routes is that we've not seen very much of anything else in recent years so it's harder to be positive with First
An update I didn’t expect to make but atm transport Scotland have pulled funding for the 22nd for first Scotland so there will be no changes.
Even though First seem to be the only company in Scotland following government social distancing rules.

28th now as originally planned to coincide with easing on that date

On the subject of route development, what have we actually had since Simplicity?

The 1C/1D were development I guess but the 1/1A/1B were just number changes mostly and came before simplicity so wouldn't count anyway

The 34A and 77 spring to mind but even at that they're adjustments of the 34 and 747

The X2 and X4 came off of the back of cuts to the 19A and 4/4A

I knew something was mentioned but couldn't remember the date it was for. Thanks for the info

If the Non essential shops are opening up on the 29th , surely the message for non essential journeys should be dropped. Cant expect everyone to drive into town or wherever?

Shame about the funding, guess theres no scope from first to increase themselves.

Yeah I've got a feeling the funding will need to come quicker from the Government. Only into Phase 2 today and I've already seen more people say buses are full even off peak.

Some services are/were due to increase on Monday (22nd) but it seems much of it is now being delayed until the 29th.

The funding has just been announced, £46.7 million over 8 weeks. It includes remobilisation costs for vehicles which had been out of service. It is an opt in scheme contract with Transport Scotland and will be targeted on "lifeline" routes and those where demand is highest.

Always wondered if there would be scope in reworking the 34 so all buses go to via the hospital and into Govan via the 'fastlink' route? The section of 34 route omitted is already served by the 3.

Where are the dupes currently running from and to for each service, I've seen the 2s, 18s and 240s dupes, are there any others?

Yeah I've always wondered about that. From experience though the bus can end up busy from Shieldhall Roundabout to Govan bus station plus the 3 isn't reliable so I probably wouldn't change it

So its back on ? 29th of June would be the day for an increase, with shops opening.

Glasgow is not a great place for new routes. Look at the Stagecoach routes, only the x19 to hospital has worked

Yeah even at that the X19 isn't really that busy some of the time from what I've seen. It'll be interesting to see where's busy after another 2/3 months. I'm sure something different will work eventually

The 747/77 is pretty much only route i can think off that has started from scratch. 23 to 3 resulted in freq increase

Yeah the 77 has been great tbh. The 23 was interesting and then when it became the 19/19A that went to Summerston/Blairdardie things were interesting. Didn't help though that as good as the idea to provide hospital services with the 15/16 was, losing the city centre link from those services killed the buses going forward. 16 is dead most of the time and the 8 isn't particularly busy from Summerston all of the time. I think the key for First is trying to get quicker, direct routes from areas into the city centre

On that note I really wish First would reintroduce the X86 but in a different form. Still have it Kilsyth - Kirkintilloch - Glasgow but have it go into Woodilee Village properly as it’s full of bus stops but no buses. Having it avoid Lenzie gives Kirkintilloch a faster journey too by using the A806. It could just go through woodilee up to the roundabout then turn and back down.

Yeah I remember that bus. Used it a couple of times. Was a good option

Them areas are lucky to have motorway for fast connections into city centre.

I see FSE are increasing services for the 29th of June, surely we can expect FG to do the same.

I think the passenger numbers will bounce back quicker on buses compared to trains, as the commuters tend to be in better jobs and will do home working.

Trains at mine's are back to normal pretty much with the same frequency and timings. Buses have definitely been busier too. Hoping our timetable changes are announced on Monday or Tuesday at the latest just to give people a bit of notice for the changes

Yeah, i used to train into town last week, still hourly and still quiet. I think a few peaks were added. Hopefully some increase and 31 comes back.

Yeah I've seen a few people ask about the 31 tbh. I do see it being brought back
