Does the 900 and fife express services not use dobbies loan? If so they will be exempt from LEZ

Most drivers just enter via Dobbies loan, however most exit Via Jct 15 either going via Uni or Baird street. Agan that no problem come 2022 when the coaches will all be Euro 6 anyways.

The exemption is only temporary anyway, but they have not said when it will finish, I think.

Those bendy buses were a nightmare haha the 9 and 62 were full of them and I used to use both for school purposes and we all used to stand in the bendy bit because it was so busy
They used to do a peak 6 to Busby only . Were on the 40 too .

Yeah there's a few freshers events with potential free travel deals this week. Yeah I remember the old 44 and it was absolutely packed constantly. Taking away the Knightswood to Broomhill section hasn't helped either. Was always busy with schoolkids going to Hyndland by the bottom of Jordanhill. Don't think the X4 off peak is busy at all

44 used to be well used by Students from the Mearns and Clarkston to the uni , i thought that was the whole reason for its route .

Yeah the 40 used to be a really good bus too. Surprised there's not a bus through Great Western Retail Park anymore. Practically handed Drumry train station more customers too

Anyone thinking we might not get the strikes now? Any time I've seen other passengers on my buses mention the possibility to drivers they've just laughed them off and now that the changes are all going through fairly quickly I think something may have changed. Obviously I have no inside knowledge or sources so if anyone has anything regarding it then it would be helpful to know. Obviously I understand if people can't say under confidentiality too

Saw a number of E400MMCs on the 60/60A today are we assuming this will be their permanent route now? Also I think the 65 plate E400MMCs should be put back on to city work instead of express work. I think the refurbished B9TLs would be better on the Express services.

The E400MMCs could be used to upgrade the 60/60A, 41 and 61 as well as some peak 2 services perhaps.

Saw a Barbie 1 B10BLE on the Expressway this morning, I thought these and the toilet boxes had all been scrapped, are there still some running?

Seen a few deckers on the 8 recently. Also been very quiet at times too especially the ones I've been on. Bit of a waste no? Definitely think the 6/6A could do with a refresh of buses. 02 plate deckers around a lot on the 6A and many 06 at newest buses on both too

Got a feeling we will be looking at a new company in control the second a sale can officially happen. Need someone with a bit of creativity too though as First haven't shown a lot of it here. Thinking around 7/8 months time for everything to happen

There won’t be a strike. Changes going ahead but cuts to PVR now not as drastic. Rethink required now as plans were to drop buses from fleet at the service change.

Will be interesting to see what occurs over the next month but glad to see it's not as drastic

53 plates normally on the 21

That would explain how there's been occasional single deckers on the 21 then. Not sure about peaks as they can be very busy but off peak the 21 could be mainly single decker and work well. Wouldn't run it all single decker though

The 53 plate B7TLs are horrendous it’s about time they went.

As for no new orders next year I’m very doubtful. First Glasgow still has a way to go to oust a lot of its older stock. We are talking about many B7TLs and B7RLEs not to mention there’s some older tridents still kicking about. Glasgow needs more new orders they can’t rely on cascading older/newer buses from other subsidiaries as they’ll have none left you can’t have a brand new fleet in Glasgow and put everywhere else in trouble.

As for FIG going for sale it’s been up for sale for a while so it could happen at any time but people are putting to much emphasis on it. It could happen in months or years who knows. Either way first have to maintain until then as a company and not to mention the LEZ deadline is only 3 years away.

Think that’s pretty fair. There will be plans for further fleet replacement but after the recent influx, things will be calmer and the PVR cuts plus FSE e400mmcs will also help. Just probably nothing until the next FY.

First Bristol were due e400CNG to meet various AQMAs during 2019 but in the end, it’s early 2020 so think that’s a reflection on available capital too.

I think there will probably be more pvr cuts each time there's service changes and the next influx of new buses will be later on next year if there's not a clear interest shown in purchasing First Glasgow. Don't see too much investment occurring anywhere in new stock

Of course only buses going through the city need to comply... routes like the 16, 46, 94 etc, So the only routes that would need to be cut are the main Overground routes sadly.. The 34 has brand new stock and doesn't even go anywhere near the City centre. 90 Also has newer stock and again does not enter the LEZ zone. So why is First wasting it money here?

I think in an ideal world all buses would have reasonably new buses but as you say there's a bit of a waste with some services. The 241, 242, 254 all have new buses too and as much as I think it's been a great build for Lanarkshire, everything should be thrown at Glasgow allowing more fleet movements out of Glasgow too to bring up the rest of the fleet and saving more money where possible. Could even have sent the likes of E300s onto the likes of 34s and the Lanarkshire services and gave new buses to the 2/3 etc. Speaking of the 2 and 3 that would free up tons of stock although it would take most of a new batch to cover just those 2 services. Plenty of upgrades can be done too so we will see what happens and going by the fact we are only 3 months away from 2020 already it'll be upon us before we know it

I can understand why the 34/34A got the new buses though. Would make the fact it's a hospital service more attractive plus Castlemilk considering how busy the people there can make buses is probably underbused if anything
