It’s not a dupe as has been said a dupe is a bus that runs with a scheduled bus for capacity issues and are not registered. In the case of the 255 they are short workings not dupes.

Saw a few 09 plate B9TLs on the 46 as of recent. Think they just throw anything on that route though!
Also what would Blantyre do with more E300s if they were swapped with tridents? Aren’t their tridents normally used on routes like the 21?
They are being swapped for B7RLEs not tridents.

My mistake apologise! The B7RLEs are good buses I’d have thought they’d be wanting to keep them in Lanarkshire with the B10BLEs going but then again Lanarkshire has been getting quite a bit of new stock in
And not before time first Glasgow no2 has been making more profit than no1 so it’s only right we see investment in the fleet.

A nicely refurbished 2006 B7RLE with a “good” paint job, repainted wheels, Recoloured GRP moulds, Recoloured seat backs + reupholstering, wood flooring, re-coated stanchions to a nice white, silver or cream...oh and USB ports for those caught out...
Getting rid entirely of the nasty Purple and Torquise interiors would do them the world off good not to mention completely rejuvinating them, they could go for years yet while hood winking a few passenger in the mistake of a new bus...

Fig No2 has already seen investment with the new buses for the no18, Don't forget the X3, X85, X87, 201......

241: yes only recently. Did it deserve the investments, yes it did.
X11: not really investment when Caley moves e400mmc from one route to another and slaps on horrible branding. Route really would be better with the refurbished deckers.
201: yes back in 2013 with e300s for Lanarkshire's buisest route. Route branding due to be rolled out 2019. New stock not required for this route maybe interiors refreshed with new double padded seats due to route length.
267: correct with running the worst vehicles in the fleet. streetsh***s but will help with LEZ so it's fine.
18: correct and was due to LEZ and to help get old stock retired that was being used on a busy route
242: has had zero investment at all and new vehicles coming is to get b10s retired and b7s moved to Caley and also to increase passenger numbers to maxim park. Has it deserved investment, absolutely
254: has had zero investment previously again like 242. New vehicles again to help get b10s retired and b7s off fleet. Investment deserved, yes/no as it does get better stock than the 242 with mostly darts/streetlites or e200mmc but again passenger numbers wise and profitabilty, yes
226: correct has had investment twice since the last 10 years but the 09 plate enviros were robbed from it not long after getting them after publicity from the council. E200s were then put on in 2015 but recently these vehicles have been getting took off to be put on other routes so possibly will loose it's vehicles again if not already.
240: enviro 200mmcs back in 2015 again on a route to and from Glasgow which was needing investment to get b10s/b7s removed from it. Route would benefit from getting seats replaced with the double padded seats due to length of route.
So Lanarkshire hasn't really had brand new investment it deserves and is about time it did. Lanarkshire is extremely profitable specially around Motherwell/Wishaw areas.
Yes LEZ needs new vehicles but that doesn't mean Glasgow should get all the new vehicles when it's routes in Lanarkshire like 266/241/242/254/240/201 that is massively helping funding the investments.
Still plenty of investment over the next few years to come that will benefit Glasgow.

I work for first Glasgow, and have seen on paper the investment the company has put into routes. Saying that it’s very incorrect is an inaccurate statement. Buses on diddfenet routes occur when the depot is short of buses or waiting on buses off engineering in the morning and have to put the wrong bus on the wrong route till eneginerring assist can swap over later in the day.
Investment is when a company puts money into routes by increase frequency greatly or new stock.
241/242/254 has never had investment before now.
Express services got deckers off routes that couldn't use them due punctuality issues. Not investment.
Only routes in Lanarkshire that has received investment is the 201 & 226 in the past which 226 was then robbed of them not long after. Not including vehicles that travel outside Lanarkshire likes 240/267
End of the day if routes are getting investment then they are doing something right and making the company money.
241 only received new buses due to competition, originally planned for the 242. 18 has new buses due to the LEZ and its the highest grossing route in Lanarkshire. 267’s streetlites are actually amoungst the most reliable on fleet. The 226 enviros are not going anywhere, buses do stray from routes from time to time but better to have that than no bus at all
You are a driver at First yes? I very much doubt you have seen financial figures unless you have viewed the accounts which anyone can see. Yes there has been investment in the area in 2013 and 2015 for routes which deserved investment but there has not been as big an investment in Lanarkshire for a long time than what their has been in the past 6 months new buses for 18 241 242 and 254 is a significant investment for the area but given the profit levels for first Glasgow no2 already it is well deserved as new buses will only increase the profits long term due to them being more fuel efficient and less costly to maintain. There is major developments going on in Eurocentral so the 242 getting new buses makes business sense. Also with competition on the 254 it again makes sense for new stock to go on this route which can be very busy at times.
The B7RLEs are transferring to caledonia the LEZ doesn’t fully kick in until 2022 by which time these buses will be 16-17 years old and due for retirement. There will be major investment in the fleet between now and then. People complaining at Lanarkshire getting new buses when Caledonia have had just as many.
Is was about time Overtown got brand new vehicles.
They have only ever had 1 batch of new buses and that was for the 240 with the enviro 200mmcs.
Overtown has been hit for years with other depots hand me downs but the depot has done well to keep them on the road and the staff at the depot should be proud it's getting investment.
Unlike other depots I have noticed they look after their buses in terms of damage to vehicles.
Not seen any of the 241s with any damage to panels unlike Caley with the pink 2s which at least one did have panel damage next to the emergency door. 75s I haven't seen to say and the same to the 34/65 and also Blantyres 18s.

66988 going from Blantyre to call for 44530 in return tonight, 8 streetlites going to OV tonight in exchange for 8 B7RLE’s
Thought it was Blantyre that had the 240? E200MMCS
It’s 5 streetlites for 4 B7s and 66282 as said previously.
All B7RLEs are due to leave Overtown but they won’t all go this weekend.
The moves are happening just now gates at Overtown depot open which is obviously not usually the case on a Sunday.
