They won’t, as Scotstoun need them for the 6.
And Caley need them because of shortages. The previous arrangement was that while Scotstoun had most, Caley had a few, even once Scotstoun took over operation of the 6 completely, iirc.
I mean, there are the ex-FMAN examples too which are full height and can't do the 6, but I'm not sure if those are ever coming down. Maybe once Aberdeen gets their hydrogen back.

I can absolutely assure you that Scotstoun needs them as they are the only double deckers capable of operating the 6.
And Caledonia are short of a small number of vehicles now as the vast majority of BYD singles which were taken off for inspection have returned to service.

Wasn't the e400 and the e400h built low hight especially for the 66/6 if so then surely someone else can do it again?

Is the busby bridge gaining any height after all is done?
The entire thing is being replaced, so the new structure could have that bit more clearance for low-height MMC and EVs which are only about an inch too tall at the moment, who knows.
This is the first time in a wee while that a Gemini has been withdrawn, previous withdrawals like 203 and 207 have already went for scrap, won't be surprised if 238 also has.
That said, there are a few Geminis that have not been withdrawn as such but have been out of action since January/February, they may have some issues to be seen to and if so yes I'm sure 189 will come in handy for parts.

I think 37144, 37145, 37269 and 37270 were scrapped a while back as well.
Last Time I seen it was just at the back of Caledonia. But IDK if it has been sent away or not, we all thought 37266 was scrapped, but that bus re-entered service.

37238 is gone, theres no withdrawn geminis in Glasgow anymore they’re all away for scrap
Oh. At this point I feel like Glasgow shouldn’t have gave those E400MMCs to Berkshire and Essexs ages ago.

Looking on DVLA long out of service 37144 and low bridge victim 37218 are still taxed.
One other that is SORN and I would have thought would have been taken away is trainer 69119.
67721 is also SORN.

For the uninitiated, the way in which First (and Stagecoach to an extent) manage fleet replacement is to often place new vehicles into their best performing fleets. However, they also have to balance the fleet profile and not every single route in Glasgow will be viable with a load of depreciation that is placed upon it.
So hence why First will move relatively new fleet and cascade it to the less prosperous areas whilst older vehicles are maintained in places like Glasgow and Leeds to balance fleet profiles AND ensure that routes have the correct fleet/cost profile for their returns.

First bus must waste an absolute fortune repainting buses for not much time left on the road!........always thought they would only go to the effort of a full paint job if a vehicle had a decent bit of shelf life left in it (unless something major / unlucky was to happen to it)Turns out it’s number 2 they were doing.
The engineers must know what vehicles are "still going strong" for their age and what ones are "rough, on their last legs etc"
37189 was only repainted a few weeks ago into the new Ultraviolet after spending less than a year in the Urban livery
37203 barely even made it out after a repaint

I suppose it’s all under the same umbrella - these buses will need painted at some point as the Essex green is now defunct.
Perhaps they’ve just painted them while they await collection for Essex.
You never know, some of the 07 platers may even make it to 20 before being withdrawn. Euro 6 is a massive plus that has only recently become important.

Got an Aberdeen coloured E400 (33917) out already, they've not painted it yet so I would be calling it a very interesting sight if it weren't for all the loans lol, 2025 has been crazy for First Glasgow. It's tracking on the 60, probably will be Scotstoun's by the end of the week though

Easier I guess to out E300s on the 6.
What route was the 6 diverted by when the route through Busby was closed?

I believe the road was lowered circa 50 years ago so that double deckers could fit under it.
