I’m hopeful the 2 will see these also which is great news for Glasgow and regular user of the 2! It’s nice to see another depot see new stock.
Would benefit me a lot tbh plus I hate the E300s a lot more than I used to. From a passenger point of view other than when you're trying to get off the E200 MMCs are so much better and from what I've used of the electrics they've been good for comfort

The 2, 3 & 6, my concern is range, it has caused uses on the 9/9A before.

Yes there’s less journeys on the 2, 3 or 6 bus boards but I only hope there isn’t a scenario where the extra length and mileage on the routes become problematic, I only say that as someone has previously said they only get around 120-130 miles instead of the upto 160, which is frankly unachievable.

Considering there’s others to come to the market with larger battery packs, the company certainly aren’t giving themselves much headroom within the real world range the 200EV offers.

It seems likely the 2 (considering how popular the route is) will be upgraded to Enviro200 EV's. They'd suit the green tbh. I also think the 3 could (or should) get these as well.

I've been seeing E300 pop up more on the 90 recently which means they could be the replacement for the Volvo B7RLE's across the network. Routes like the 8, 16, 46 and 90 could do with an Enviro300 stock.

To me that translates to either the 2, 3 or 6 benefitting hugely here and the 8, 16 and 90 becoming E300 only unless they get rid of a lot of them to other depots
Nice to see more new stock. I do feel Scotstoun gets the short straw with double deckers though.

Other than the 77 it's not really been great for double deckers. All getting to a fair age to be honest too so definitely replacements required eventually

Does anyone know the PVR of the 2?

I imagine there will be a surplus of E300s and some will begin to be cascaded around the network. A good bulk of them could go to FSE to replace the Volvo stock.

There are still a fair few eclipses around the network so it would be good to see more E300s and E200MMCs take their place.

I was never a huge fan of the Volvo B7RLE's but I'm going to miss ther B7TL's, they've always been my favourite amongst the fleet along with the Scania L94UB Flolines and Enviro400 EV's

On another note, 38418 is on the 60A today
38418 later on the 60.

LC71 ETT 38420 was on the 57A today as well (pictured below). I've heard rumours that the new EV single decks are going to be Yutongs, only a rumour though.

First will receive the first production models (up to an unspecified number) of the new Arrival product. The recent electric buses bids in England have been for Arrival buses.

I think on thing about the Enviro400 EV's that make them unique is that funny singing sound they make when they stop. I don't know if anyone else notices but they sound so unusual, but I love the 384xx buses in general.

Could we stay on the topic of First Glasgow and not get sidetracked into a general discussion about manufacturers? I've moved some posts to this thread:

Interesting considering everything else has been thrown on it lately I've just seen a double decker from the one branding on a 77

Dumbarton had the oldest fleet before they got the e3oo, now it seems they are heading back to the oldest fleet
To be fair I do kinda get why. It's a rotten area for public transport use too. If it wasn't for the success of the 1s I reckon they'd have ditched the area to be fair. The train and cars just win out very easily. There's plenty of times even before Covid that the 1s could get to Bowling/Old Kilpatrick with barely a person on them.

Like a lot of towns it's certainly shrunk a lot over the years. That said when I lived there in the 90s I would only use the bus in town when the weather was less pleasant as the town is compact enough to make walking and cycling completely viable. Trips to Clydebank, Glasgow and Helensburgh were always done by train, it wasn't even a consideration.

Which is why no stance in the past has ever been taken to speed up the 1/A/B from Dumbarton into the city including removing these buses from Barns Street in Clydebank as well as them using a limited-stop pattern on Dumbarton Road.

They never adapted in the past in an attempt to keep more people on them, covid, working from home etc; they’ve not been made any quicker, most people towards the city centre will use a 1-something before they’d use a 2 or 6 from Clydebank or scotstoun, not to mention that the 1s haven’t seen a quality upgrade of vehicle to travel on.

That’s Kinda True, they where the last depot in the Glasgow fleet to have the 51-Plate Renown Buses, and currently have a lot of Eclipse buses moved there from the other Glasgow depots now.

Speaking to a driver last night and was told the following:
  • Dumbarton is on the chopping block
  • Overtown is getting cascades from Caley and already has branded 34/A buses from Caley for the 267/263

I wouldn’t be surprised that if the 61 sees new E400EVs as rumoured then the refurbished B9TLs may be moved on to 'the One' services to displace the unrefurbished examples. Just a thought though.

I think Dumbarton will probably be exclusively E300 operated with the exception of the deckers.

Unlikely, they’ll most likely go into the base livery for general services especially considering theres almost 3 times the number of them compared to the 1s branded deckers

As already stated the B9s at Dumbarton are/have already moved permanently so Scotstoun and Caley
